Railways Savings

The railways achieved a saving of Rs 82 crore in material procurement in the last fiscal. Of this, Rs 51 crore was in steel products, Rs 16 crore in petroleum products and Rs 15 crore in timber, an official release here yesterday said. PTI and called upon bureaucrats to have a development spirit in implementing the small industry policy.

During the year, scrap worth Rs 835 crore was sold.
