Scrips Inch Up On Revival Of Buying

Foreign institutional investors as well as domestic development financial institutions buying and higher Mumbai advices also influenced the trading sentiment.

However, a few shares lost fresh ground and closed lower on persistent bull offerings at the capital bourse.

With the result, the Delhi Stock Exchange sensitive Index gained slightly to close at 709.34 points against last level of 709.93 showing a loss of 0.59 points.

Major gainers in the specified section were State Bank of India, Grasim Industries, DCM Shriram Consolidated, Hindustan Lever, Larsen and Toubro, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd, Oriental Bank of Commerce, and Tata Engineering and Locomotive Ltd on brisk buying.

 

ACC lost Rs 66.50 at Rs 1573.50, SmithKline Beecham was notably lower by Rs 40 at Rs 255, Nestle by Rs 4.50 at Rs 219.50, ITC Limited by Rs 3 at Rs 303 and Ranbaxy Laboratories by Rs 2 at Rs 610 on persistent profit selling.

In the cash section, the trend was weak when share like Goenka lost Rs 6.50 at Rs 28, Modern Thread by Rs 3.45 at Rs 70, Saw Pipes by Rs 3 at Rs 52 and Jindal Strips by Rs 3 at Rs 67 on fresh profit selling.

On the other hand, shares like Jaimata Glass, MGF India, and Dr Wellmans Homeophatic were higher on fresh investment buying.
