Slight Improvement

Share prices at the Calcutta stock exchange improved slightly yesterday in a market devoid of any selling pressure, though there was no optimistic buying activity.

The CSE-50 index opened the day with previous days closing level and surged ahead to 107.98 at one stage due to nominal buying support, but closed at a reduced level at 107.33.

In the specified list, ITC closed with gain by Rs 4.50 to Rs 446.00, BOC by Rs 4.50 to Rs 77.00 and Telco by Rs 9.10 to Rs 403.10 and with SBI new by Rs 6.00 to Rs 312.00. Among other counters, ACC closed at Rs 1169.00, CESC at Rs 45.00, Reliance at Rs 296.90, Tisco at Rs 179.70, Hindustan Lever, at Rs 1052.60, Hindustan Motors at Rs 13.80 and Tata Tea at Rs 290.50.

 

In the cash list shares, BSES finished at Rs 240.90, Chambal Fertiliser at Rs 10.00, Colgate at Rs 295.00, ITC Classic at Rs 27.20 and Nagarjuna Fertiliser held at Rs 15.10.
