Small Car, Safari To Be Showcased In Geneva

The Telco mini car project is not India-specific. A left-hand drive version of the car was part of the project from Day 1. During construction, the mini car was benchmarked to the Volkswagen Polo, Opel Corsa, Fiat Punto and the now famous A 178 Palio world car.

The Telco mini car (the car wont be named till regular production begins at the new plant) can meet the emission and crash requirements of the European Union. The emission lab at Telco has been approved and certified by French, Ger-man and Spanish regulatory bodies.

For the small car, the focus will be on a 1400cc petrol engine since it offers optimum performance and fuel efficiency at the European driving cycles. The Safari will be positioned as an affordable, yet very well packaged all-wheel drive machine.
