Study Report Submitted To Government

A strategic options study of the state road network comprising state highways and major district roads was today submitted to the Kerala Chief Minister, E K Nayanar by rites, transportation consultants and engineers under the Government of India. The consultancy was awarded to rites in August 1996 and the study was conducted in two phases phase one, screening study and phase two, detailed strategic options study.In phase one, the road network was screened on the basis of traffic volume to road capacity and traffic composition, to identify the road corridors for further detailed strategic options study. In phase two various strategic options were formulated and road corridors identified to be taken on a priority basis.
