The Dhoot Statement

On being questioned, I state that I reside at the above address with my family. I am a native of Gangapur Village in Aurangabad. I did my Bachelor of Engg. (electronics) from College of Engineering Pune in 1974. In 1975, I joined Toshiba Corporation Japan as a trainee enginner. I came back to India after six months and joined my father's business of sugar and cotton. In 1983, when colour TV transmission started in India, I established a factory to manufacture colour TVs in 1964 in collaboration with Toshiba Japan in the name and style of Videocon of which I am the managing director. In 1987, we diversified into consumer appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners in collaboration with National of Japan. Today, we are a business house with a turnover of Rs 2000 crore and have a manpower of over 10,000 persons.
