Trading Lacklustre

Share values continued to plunge further at the Calcutta Stock Exchange yesterday due to lack of buying support and sustained selling pressure at the bourse.

Besides, lack of support from domestic institutions and foreign institutional investors accounted for the weak trading activity.

Sentiments were at a low ebb throughout the trading session yesterday.

As a result, transactions were very few during the day. The 51-scrip CSE index, which closed at 417.54 points the previous day, registered a 5.09 points fall and settled at 412.45 points at the end of the trading session.

The ITC controversy continued to affect market sentiment and the stock closed lower at the bourse.
