AMD launches Ontario chip, made in Hyd

The Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a global provider of processing solutions in computing, graphics and consumer electronics markets, launched Ontario, a chip to save power in Hyderabad.
AMD's research and development team at Hyderabad, with 86 engineers, took two years to produce the chip. The product development capability that involved design and development of product from drawing board to mother board.
The original equipment manufacturers would roll out their products powered by Ontario from January 2011.
