SQL Star plans knowledge centres in 10 cities

Our Regional Bureau Chennai/ Hyderabad
SQL Star International Limited, a Hyderabad-based IT services company, is planning to start knowledge centres in 10 cities in the next three months.

The company has such IT training centres in eight cities including Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune and Bhubaneswar apart from the four metros.

SQL Star is looking for partners to set up knowledge centres on a franchisee model in Chandigarh, Lucknow, Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Kochi, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Nagpur and Thiruvananthapuram.

Addressing the media, Narendra Shukla, chief executive officer, SQL Star, said, "There is a huge shortage of human resources in the IT industry because of absence of quality faculty. Besides, the curriculum is not updated. There is, therefore, a need to bridge the increasing divide between industry requirements and the kind of talent that is being provided." Shukla declined to divulge the investment that each centre would take.

The knowledge centres train 12,000 learners every year. SQL Star charges Rs 25,000-Rs 44,000 for the courses that range from basic essentials of programming to high-end career enhancement training.

The Rs 30-crore company earns 50 per cent of its revenues from the knowledge services division.
