ZEN mobiles to increase its presence in Punjab

Having already sold over 40,000 mobile phones in last four months in Punjab, Zen Mobiles, part of Teleecare group, is aggressively targeting the Punjab market, especially the B, C & D category towns. To strengthen its presence in the state, the company is further expanding its sales and service network in the state as well as across the country to get closer to its customer base.

Punjab being a lucrative market, the company plans to increase the dealership from 35 to 60 by the end of May. Also, at present the company has more than 15 after sales service centres in the state and it is planning to set up at least 20-25 centres by May, keeping in mind the increasing number of consumers in the state.

 

Zen Mobile CEO Vaibhav Shastri said, “Punjab is an essential mobile market and we are expanding our services here and targeting B, C & D category towns. Further, keeping in mind the sensitivities of the consumer, we have launched a slew of phones which are affordable and in line with new-age needs and consumption patterns of the people. We are launching about 18 phones equipped with multimedia features.”

He added, “To enhance our presence, we are further expanding our sales and service network in the state. We are planning to increase the dealership from 35 to 60 by the end of May. We have plans to set up at least 20-25 centres by May keeping in mind the increasing number of consumers in the state.”

The company launched new handsets in Ludhiana. On being asked about the Indian market, he said, “There is lot of potential, every month over one crore handsets are sold across India. We have launched our handsets in September 2009 and we managed to sell 7.5 lakh units by March 31, 2010 across India. We plan to have at least 700-800 stores by the end of December 2010.
