Most Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses remained off the roads on Saturday as drivers' strike over daily-wage hikes, medical facilities and overtime payment entered its fifth day.
Despite assurances from the Delhi government, drivers continued their protest, causing inconvenience to daily commuters.
Earlier, the DTC had directed its permanent drivers to be deployed to fill the manpower gap for the time being. However, with a large number of electric buses operated by private companies, the impact of the move has been limited and a large number of buses remained off the roads.
Some drivers alleged that protesters were being "forced" to work through threats by the administration. They also claimed that a bus window was broken at the Bawana depot.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that over one lakh youth in the state would get government jobs within the next six months.
While speaking at a function organised in Lucknow to distribute appointment letters to 818 candidates selected for various departmental posts by the UPPSC and UPSSSC, he claimed that the previous Samajwadi Party government appointed someone as chairman of the UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC) who was not eligible for the post.
"To those who had created a mess regarding the distribution of appointment letters before 2017, I want to say this: Take note -- we are distributing appointment letters starting today, and over the next six months, we are going to provide government jobs to more than one lakh young people. Let them count; we will keep on delivering," Adityanath said.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) is targeting 1 million "green vehicle" sales - spanning CNG, hybrid and EV - this financial year, helped by structural tailwinds such as rising crude prices and the introduction of automatic transmission in CNG variants.

India's largest carmaker raised its green vehicle sales target from 800,000-900,000 units, banking on rising crude prices and new automatic CNG variants

Maruti Suzuki India on Friday said it has reached a milestone of dispatching 1 million vehicles through in-plant railway terminals in just over three years since opening dedicated transportation lines at two manufacturing sites in Gujarat and Haryana.
Operations from in-plant railway sidings at Hansalpur (Gujarat) commenced in March 2023 and from the Manesar (Haryana) railway siding in June 2025.
In the current financial year, the automaker said that 70 per cent of its total rail-based vehicle dispatches have been through these two in-plant railway sidings, and its mid-term goal is to increase such dispatches to 35 per cent by FY31.
As of August 31 of this fiscal year, the company's rail-based vehicle dispatches have crossed 3 lakh units, it said.

MSME fintech firm Progcap aims to raise up to USD 45 million (approximately Rs 425 crore) from share sales in FY28 to expand its lending business.
"We are planning a capital raise through equity dilution next financial year," Progcap co-founder Himanshu Chandra told PTI.
It would be through private placement of shares, and the quantum could be in the range of USD 40-45 million, depending on the valuation, he said.
"We have enough capital to take care of growth needs for the current financial year. We may look at dilution of equity next financial year," he said, adding that the dilution would be in the single digit.
The fintech firm, which obtained an NBFC licence in 2022, has been witnessing very high growth in MSME lending, especially wholesalers and retailers.

Over 100 MSME players of the stainless steel sector have urged the government to reintroduce the quality control order, citing a surge in Chinese imports after the order was revoked to ease the sourcing of raw material for domestic manufacturing.
The steel ministry, through an order dated April 27, suspended the quality control order (QCO) that mandated the use of only BIS-certified items for various stainless steel products.
