Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the government is ready for a discussion on the Manipur issue on August 11 and claimed that it was the opposition which was running away from it. August 11 is the last date of the Monsoon session. The discussion on the no-confidence motion will be taken up in the Lok Sabha from August 8 to 10. Manipur tribal body leaders to meet Amit Shah over prevailing situation

Representatives of an influential tribal group from Manipur will fly to Delhi on Monday to attend a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the prevailing situation in the strife-torn northeastern state, sources said. The delegation of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), a body representing various Zo ethnic groups in Manipur, responded to an invitation extended by Shah. The ITLF leaders reached the Mizoram capital from Churachandpur in Manipur and will fly to Delhi from Lengpui airport near here. No sugar mill in Maharashtra should be without ethanol distillery: Shah

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said there should not be a single sugar mill in Maharashtra that is not producing ethanol. He was speaking at a public event after launching the digital portal of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) office in Pune. Huge funding is available under various schemes for cooperative societies which can be utilised for setting up distilleries. Sugar mills in the state should avail of the loan facility. Shah suggests Odisha to train people to handle chemical, nuclear disasters

Appreciating Odisha government's skill in handling natural calamities like cyclones and floods, Union Home Minister Amit Shah Saturday suggested to the state administration to train Aapda Mitras and disaster warriors in handling chemical and nuclear disasters. He advised that the Aapda Mitras and disaster warriors in the state be imparted multi-disaster training in handling chemical and nuclear disasters as they hit without any warning. Charing the 38th meeting of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language here, Shah also said there can be no other favourable moment for the promotion of Indian languages as Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly presents Hindi and all other Indian languages on global platforms, an official statement said. Shah releases Rs 10k each to 112 investors stuck in Sahara's 4 cooperatives

Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday started the process of returning hard earned money of crores of depositors of four cooperatives of Sahara Group by transferring the first tranche of Rs 10,000 each to 112 small investors. Shah said so far 18 lakh depositors have registered on the 'CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal', which was launched on July 18. "So far, 18 lakh investors have registered on the portal. ...Today, about Rs 10,000 each has been transferred into the bank account of 112 investors," he said after releasing the amount. Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah is scheduled to pay a two-day visit to Odisha from Friday, during which he will attend official meetings.
