Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 58,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, which includes resuming the construction of greenfield capital city Amaravati. According to the official schedule shared by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's office, PM Modi is expected to land at Gannavaram Airport (Vijayawada Airport) at 2:55 pm and travel by helicopter to Velagapudi secretariat helipad. SC reserves verdict on plea for delimitation exercise in AP, Telangana

The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a plea seeking directions to the Centre for holding the delimitation exercise to increase the assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh reserved its decision on a plea filed by K Purushottam Reddy who contended that holding delimitation exercise only in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and excluding Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was unconstitutional. The petitioner's counsel said he was seeking parity with UT of Jammu and Kashmir and delimitation exercise be taken in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Additional solicitor general K M Nataraj, appearing for the Centre, referred to Section 26 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and said the delimitation process could be undertaken only after the 2026 census concluded. CM announces ₹25 lakh ex gratia for 7 killed in Andhra temple wall collapse

Seven people were killed and several others injured when a rain-soaked wall collapsed at the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple here, in the early hours of Wednesday, officials said. Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha said preliminary reports indicated that the wall collapse in the temple in Simchalam was triggered by soil loosening due to heavy rains in the area. Rescue operations are underway, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and state authorities pressed into service. The injured have been shifted to a hospital, officials added.

The remand note issued by SIT during the arrest of alleged 'kingpin' of the Rs 3,200 crore Andhra Pradesh liquor scam accuses that top YSRCP leaders collected monthly kickbacks of Rs 5060 crore from liquor brands that were granted preferential treatment in sales through government-run outlets.
