State to have $143 bn economy by 2030: CM Himanta at Advantage Assam 2.0

Assam will have a USD 143 billion economy by 2030, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed on Tuesday, urging investors to join the state's growth trajectory. Speaking at the inaugural function of the two-day 'Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit' here, Sarma emphasised that the state has emerged from being the "most disturbed" to the "most peaceful" now. "The state's GDP growth this year will be 15.2 per cent. The economy will reach USD 143 billion by 2030," he claimed. "I can assure you today that we will ensure the best working and congenial atmosphere for establishing industries in Assam. Investment proposals worth Rs 40k cr received in 3-and-half yrs: Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that investment proposals worth Rs 40,000 crore have been received in the state in the last three-and-half-years, with many of these projects in various stages of implementation at present. He was speaking at the inauguration of a new bottling plant of Reliance Consumer Products Ltd's (RCPL) Campa Cola range here. Spanning over 6 lakh sq ft, the plant, being developed in collaboration with RCPL's local partner Jericho, is among the largest beverage manufacturing units in the Northeast. It has an initial production capacity of over 10 crore litres for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) and nearly 18 crore litres for packaged drinking water. The Supreme Court on Friday sought response of Maharashtra and Assam governments on a plea of YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani seeking to quash or transfer to Mumbai an FIR registered in Guwahati in connection with a case of allegedly promoting obscenity in an online show. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh issued notice and tagged Chanchlani's plea with influencer Ranveer Allahbadia's pending petition. At the outset, the bench told Chanchlani's counsel that he was already granted bail in the matter. Assam cabinet approves mega industrial park, new policy for green energy

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said the state cabinet has approved a mega industrial park and a new policy for green energy. Addressing a press conference after chairing a cabinet meeting here, Sarma said the state government has resolved to allot 569 bighas of land (over 188 acres) in Morigaon district for a mega industrial park. The cabinet also approved the Assam Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2025 to promote solar, wind, mini and small hydro, hydrogen and other green energy projects in the state, he added. "We have also decided to notify a new national park in between existing parks Raimona and Manas. It will be Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park, spread across 316.29 sq km in Chirang and Kokrajhar districts," Sarma said. Besides, the cabinet has approved Post Graduate increments to Ayurvedic doctors, who have successfully completed the 3-year PG course, he added.

No FIR against Gaurav Gogoi, Assam cabinet to file case against Pakistani
