Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday accused the Congress of not implementing reservation for the OBC community despite the party ruling from "panchayat to Parliament" for so many years after Independence. Addressing a public rally in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, Modi said the Congress' only target is to loot Chhattisgarh and fill its own coffers. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's son, his (CM's) relatives and officers close to him looted and destroyed Chhattisgarh in five years, he alleged. Modi also said he can challenge that no official social media platforms of the Congress have appealed to the people to buy local products. Polling in 20 out of the total 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh was held on November 7. Voting in the remaining 70 seats will be held on November 17. Modi said the first phase of voting in Chhattisgarh has busted the Congress' "balloon of lies" and now people have decided to teach a lesson to the party. The BJP-led Centre built 4 cror

Chhattisgarh Assembly elections: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that forced religious conversion in the state will be prohibited if the BJP comes to power in Chhattisgarh
The BJP released its election manifesto for the state assembly polls scheduled to be held this week on November 11
When it nominated seven MPs, including three Union ministers, and a general secretary for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections and organised whirlwind tours of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP left no room for doubt about its singular resolve to retain power in the state at any cost. Behind its high-decibel campaign, powered by well-organised party machinery, the BJP also appears to have made a slight departure from its next generation' approach to stay ahead of an aggressive Congress and enhance its prospects of securing a majority of seats. The saffron party seems to have gone a bit easy over age this time by fielding 14 candidates who are 70-plus, with the oldest being 80. In contrast, the opposition Congress has fielded nine septuagenarians for the November 17 polls. According to political observers, BJP's move to go with warhorses could be the fallout of its drubbing in the Karnataka elections where it apparently picked younger candidates over old-timers like former chief ...
As curtains rise on Telangana's drama, the spotlight intensifies as parties weave a dramatic narrative, blending welfare schemes, strategic moves, and the looming spectre of a triangular showdown
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said if the Congress retains power in Chhattisgarh, women will be given an annual financial assistance of Rs 15,000 in the state. The announcement, which comes ahead of the second phase of Chhattisgarh elections scheduled on November 17, is being seen as a counter to the opposition BJP's promise in its poll manifesto of giving Rs 12,000 per year to married women. Today, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, with the blessings of Maa Lakshmi ji and Chhattisgarh Mahtari, an important decision has been taken for women empowerment, Baghel told reporters in Raipur. After the Congress government is formed again in Chhattisgarh, women in the state will be provided an annual assistance of Rs 15,000 directly into their bank accounts under the "Chhattisgarh Gruha Lakshmi Yojana', he said. Baghel also wished people of the state on Diwali. The first phase of polling in 20 out of the total 90 assembly seats in the state was held on November 7. The remain

The Congress government in Rajasthan implemented public welfare schemes keeping in mind every section of society during its five-year tenure, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday. Addressing an election rally for the Congress' candidate in Jodhpur's Bhopalgarh, Gehlot also expressed confidence that the public will return the party to power in the state. According to a statement, Gehlot said the Congress government implemented public welfare schemes for five years, keeping in mind every class and family of Rajasthan. He said, "This is our biggest collective achievement. Now we will strengthen these further by forming a Congress government in Rajasthan again in December." There has been no shortage of any kind in the all-round development of the state, including in Jodhpur. Every household has been benefited through schemes based on the opinion and advice of the common people, Gehlot added. Voting for the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly will be held on November 25. The Congress on Saturday exuded confidence of getting a mandate in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly polls, asserting that the people of the state would vote for the message of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was to fight the alleged "inequality, unemployment and political dictatorship" perpetrated by the Narendra Modi government. In a post in Hindi on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said while passing through the "Bharat Jodo Bridge" in Jaipur on Saturday afternoon, memories of the 485-km-long Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan in December last year rushed back. This is natural because the longest period of the journey was in the desert state, he said. "The 4,000-km Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir was not only an event but a historic movement. The journey had a profound impact on the political fortunes of the Indian National Congress in Rajasthan and other parts of India," Ramesh said. When the people of the state vote on November 25, the Congress will get the ...
The police sub-inspector accused of raping a minor girl in Rajasthan's Dausa district has been arrested and a case registered against him under relevant sections, including POCSO Act and the SC/ST Act, officials said on Saturday. The police officer was detained and suspended on Friday. The opposition BJP attacked the Congress government in the state over law and order after the case surfaced, alleging that while the Centre believes in "beti bachao", the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led dispensation in Rajasthan stands for "rapists bachao". Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra condemned the incident, saying it brings shame to the entire society, and instructed Director General of Police Umesh Mishra to take strict action in the case. The minor was allegedly lured into a room by Sub-Inspector Bhupendra Singh and raped on Friday afternoon, police said, adding that Singh was suspended on Friday itself and a report of his misconduct was sent to the IGP of Jaipur Rural for further action. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday lashed out at the Congress for its minority declaration' in poll-bound Telangana, claiming that the party is fulfilling the vision of Mohammad Ali Jinnah's Muslim League. In an apparent reference to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi without naming him, the BJP leader alleged that those who have appropriated the Gandhi surname have revived the policies of Jinnah. The Congress' Minority Declaration released on Thursday said that if the party comes to power in Telangana, it would ensure fair reservation for all backward classes including, minorities in jobs, education and government schemes. In a series of posts of X, Sarma wrote: In my long political career I could have never imagined that Cong will stoop so low in their attempt to capture the vote bank of one religion. By coming up with religion specific manifestos, Cong is fulfilling the vision of Mohammed Ali Jinnah's Muslim League. Sharing a screenshot of Telangana Pradesh Congress
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh on Saturday said the party is seeking mandate based on the works done by its government in Rajasthan in the last five years, whereas the BJP's issues are polarisation and ED and CBI. He alleged the BJP has no strategy other than this and the prime minister is raising allegations against Rajasthan government out of fear. He termed the allegations "totally baseless". Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his public meeting in Udaipur had accused the Congress government of sympathising with terrorists. "Rajasthan has become a model state in the last five years and the prime minister is afraid and troubled by it. Since the PM is not left with any other issue, ED and CBI is sent. And again and again the PM and their associates speak the language of polarisation," Ramesh told reporters at a press conference in Jaipur. He said that BJP cannot talk about schemes of the Congress government as they are not in a situation to comment on it. "They are afr
Newly appointed Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Saturday said his party workers will not back off from agitations against the ruling Congress and will give a befitting response to the ruling party in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also said he would strive to strengthen the party right from the booth level. The BJP on Friday had appointed Vijayendra, the younger son of veteran leader and former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, as its state unit president. He was until now the state vice-president of the party. "There is no example of BJP workers backing off from any struggle or agitation. It is in the blood of our party workers, there is no question of fearing and running away," Vijayendra said in response to a question about party workers allegedly not coming forward to take part in agitations due to the fear of the Congress government booking cases against them. Speaking to reporters here, he said, "Let Congress people be how ever vociferous they are,
The Maharashtra Congress demanded that the state government set up a committee to prepare a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfakes generated by artificial intelligence. In a post on X, the party's state unit general secretary Sachin Sawant said a separate machinery is needed to identify deepfakes and expose them. The issue of deepfakes has come to the fore after one such video of actress Rashmika Mandanna was found circulating on social media platforms earning criticism from several politicians and celebrities. Celebrities like Rashmika Mandana and some international politicians have borne the brunt of deepfake attacks, and such a situation can also malign the common man and destroy him for life, the Congress leader said. These kinds of attacks can create chaos in the field of politics, where the discourse has already hit a low, he said, adding that there is also a threat to the law and order situation due to rumours and fake news. Sawant tagged Chief Minister Eknat
The opposition Congress in Odisha announced that it will undertake a 'Tulsi Yatra', in which tulsi or basil leaves will be collected from houses across 314 blocks of the state and offered to Lord Jagannath in Puri, as a mark of protest over alleged mismanagement at the 12th-century shrine. The decision was taken hours after 10 devotees fell unconscious on Friday due to heavy rush at the temple, state Congress president Sarat Pattnayak said. A huge number of people visit the temple this time of the year as it is the holy month of 'Kartik', he said, adding that they are facing difficulties as the administration closed three of the four gates, and is allowing entry only through the 'Singha Dwar'. "We demand the opening of all the gates in order to avoid major accidents, like a stampede, as more devotees will visit the temple during the 'Panchuka' -- the last five days of Kartik," Pattnayak said. The date of the 'yatra' will be decided soon, he said. Tulsi leaves will be collected fro
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday hit out at the Congress over corruption and said the grand old party calls itself hero' but it is zero' in doing development. Addressing a rally in Sitapur constituency of poll-bound Chhattisgarh, he said Naxalism will be eliminated from the state in the next 3-4 years and forced religious conversion will be prohibited if BJP is voted to power. Targeting the Bhupesh Baghel government over alleged scams, Singh said, The Congress government has not done a single development work in the state. If the report card of this government is sought from the people then it will be zero bate sannata' in the report card. They are zero in giving a good government and zero in doing development, he said referring to the ruling Congress. Despite that, Congress leaders claim themselves to be heroes. They are not heroes. They are zeroes. Time has come to bid them farewell in the elections, he said. Left Wing Extremism was brought under control to a great ext
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said it is time to usher back an era of people-centric governance across India as he claimed that the BRS government was incapable of providing for the needs of the people of Telangana. Gandhi also shared a video on his YouTube channel of his recent visit to the house of a family of a farmer who committed suicide in 2020 in Telangana. In his post along with the video, the former Congress chief stressed the party's guarantees in Telangana, saying that they are designed to provide a minimum floor to the people of the state. "Mahatma Gandhi had once said, the most important voice is the one last in the line. Kummari Chandrayya's was one such voice. And the 'Dorala' BRS govt failed him. He was a small farmer from Telangana, struggling to make ends meet and burdened by loans. He died by suicide leaving behind his loving family," Gandhi said and shared the video of his visit to the family of the deceased farmer. "Had he been given government suppo
