Registering a financial turnaround, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has doubled its revenue generation with a growth of 89 per cent in the last three years, the Raj Niwas said on Tuesday. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had in July 2022 flagged the DDA's finances being in "red" and asserted to make it a profit earning agency, the LG office said in a post on X. "From perennially being a revenue-deficit entity to becoming revenue-surplus in last two consecutive financial years, it has been a story being rewritten by the Delhi Development Authority," it said. The DDA through a "rational and liberal approach" in terms of housing policy reforms, innovative marketing strategies, enhanced customer experience and digital transformation, managed to record a 215 per cent rise in sale of its unsold inventory during (2022-23 to 2024-25) as compared to preceding three years (2019-20 to 2021-22), the post read. Delhi CM holds Budget discussion with farmers, assures them of all help

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Saturday received feedback from Delhi farmers ahead of the tabling of her government's budget on March 25 and assured them of solving all their problems. In an interaction held at the Delhi Secretariat, the farmers raised their demands for the immediate implementation of a land pooling policy, subsidy on fertilisers and seeds, and saving standing crops from inundation due to overflowing drains during the rainy season. The farmers also informed the chief minister that their diesel-run tractors were seized after those completed 10 years. They demanded that the government allow them to use tractors for farming purposes for up to 20 years. Besides the chief minister, PWD minister Parvesh Verma was also present during the interaction. CM Gupta said that the previous governments "did nothing for farmers and neglected their needs" but the "double-engine" government of the BJP would address their every issue. Sharad Pawar urges PM Modi to install statues of Maratha warriors in Delhi

NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to permit installing three horse-mounted statues of Peshwa Bajirao I, Mahadji Shinde and Malharrao Holkar at the Talkatora Stadium here. The area around Talkatora Stadium holds immense importance in the military campaigns launched by the Maratha Empire against the Mughals in the 18th century. Pawar said a Pune-based NGO had planned to install busts of Bajirao, Shinde and Holkar at the Talkatora Stadium, but litterateurs and historians have weighed in favour of equestrian statues of the three warriors. "However, many literary figures and well-wishers have voiced the sentiment that full-sized equestrian statues would be a more fitting tribute to their valour and contribution," he said in a letter to Modi. Pawar said as Talkatora Stadium falls under the jurisdiction of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), he was seeking the prime minister's intervention in directing the Government of Delhi and NDMC to grant the ..

Felt like protagonist of 'Nayak': Rekha Gupta on her selection as Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday said she felt like the protagonist of the Hindi movie "Nayak" after being selected for the post and asserted that it was not a "lottery" but an honour for all daughters of the country. Addressing India Today Conclave, Gupta, the only woman chief minister across BJP-ruled states, said the BJP government in Delhi will ensure the cleaning of the Yamuna in three years, starting a ferry service on it and diminishing three landfill sites up to 80-90 per cent in next two years. The other priorities of her government were to ensure that Delhi people do not face water shortage in the summers and waterlogging during monsoon, she said. On being asked about her getting preference for the chief minister's post over several senior leaders and MLAs, Gupta said, "Let no one have any misunderstanding. This victory is due to the people of Delhi and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi." "This is not a post, it is a job and a responsibility. Our ai
