: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) Sunday said it has carried out an analysis of the scripts of students who had allegedly committed suicide and found that none of the cases was linked to error in publication of the exam results. Though 22 students had allegedly committed suicide and that three attempted to take the extreme step, the board in a statement termed the media reports that the suicides were due to error in the publication of results as allegations and there was not truth in them. The board said it got all the scripts of candidates who committed suicides and got it re-verified by the subject experts by forming a committee and checked for any errors either in evaluating the answer scripts, posting of marks or for totalling mistakes. In all the cases, the board found that there were no major errors which would change the marks of students from fail to pass, the release said. The Kerala government would declare the results of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 board examination tomorrow. In a release, the education department said, Education Minister C Raveendranath would hold a press conference here at 2 PM to announce details of the results. Hundreds of students from Karnataka missed the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) on Sunday as their train reached Bengaluru an hour after the scheduled reporting time for the exam, officials said. Two school students were crushed to death by a speeding truck in Bihar's East Champaran district on Sunday, police said. The deceased have been identified as Piyush Kumar (13) and Usha Kumari (15), Piprakothi police station SHO Abhishek Ranjan said, adding that Piyush and Usha were students of class 8 and 9. Piyush Kumar was the nephew of Usha Kumari, he said. The incident occurred on NH 28 in Majher village when the two were on their way to a coaching institute, the SHO said, adding that both students died on the spot. Police have seized the truck and arrested its driver, SHO said. Timely help from a police constable helped a student appear for NEET Sunday after the latter arrived at the examination hall without his photograph. The constable P Saravanakumar, on security duty at the National Model School, a NEET exam centre, noticed a student looking helpless and wandering about aimlessly. On inquiry, the student told the constable he had forgotten to bring his photograph without which one cannot take the test. Understanding the situation, Saravankumar took Rs 40 from his pocket and handed it over to the anxious student to enable him take the photograph which he eventually took and attended the exam. The gesture of the policeman won the appreciation of one and all at the exam venue.

The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) in Telangana, which has come unde flak for alleged goof up in declaration of results, Saturday sought to reassure failed students and parents of reverification of answersheets, saying the results are supervised by state run bodies. The Board said re-verification of (failed) answer sheets of students has been taken up since April 25 as per government instructions and the marks thus obtained would be sent to BIE. A newly appointed agency selected by the state-run Telanagna State Technological Services would process the results as per the marks received by the Board, a BIE release said. This agency and the one chosen earlier would both process the results separately prior to announcement, it said. A newly-married couple was found dead at Visva-Bharati university campus in Birbhum district, police said on Saturday. The bodies were found near Cheena Bhavana, located within the campus, on Friday late night, the police said. The Department of Chinese Language & Culture of Visva-Bharati university is known as Cheena Bhavana. The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Somnath Mahato and 19-year-old Abantika, a police officer said.
