'Baaghi 2' inches towards 150-crore club
Recently released 'Baaghi 2' had an excellent hold for the second weekend at the Box Office.The Tiger Shroff-starrer had a silver run at the screens with a nett collection of Rs. 135.35 crore, inching towards 150-crore club.The action flick did an excellent business in the second business by collecting Rs. 22.5 crore.Not just the illustrious club, but 'Baaghi 2' has made several other records such as highest opener of 2018 and highest Good Friday opener ever.Apart from 'Flying Jatt' actor, the action flick also shares an ensemble cast with the likes of Manoj Bajpayee, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, Prateik Babbar, Deepak Dobriyal, Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj, and Sunit Morarjee.The action flick is based on a quest for a lost child.Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment production, the film is a stand-alone sequel to 2016 film, 'Baaghi'.The movie hit the theatres on March 30.

Shooting of 'Student of the Year 2' begins in Dehradun
Shooting of "Student of the Year 2" has begun in Dehradun. The director, Punit Malhotra, along with the male lead, Tiger Shroff, have started the principal photography of the film, which is a sequel to the 2012 film, directed by Karan Johar. Johar's Dharma Productions is backing the movie. The official Twitter account of the production banner today shared a picture from the sets of the film in the Uttarakhand capital. "STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 - DAY #1 on set. Today, director @punitdmalhotra and his team begin their journey at Saint Teresa's with @iTIGERSHROFF & the girls," the post read. The female leads of the film are yet to be revealed. Johar also took to the microblogging site to announce that the details of the final cast will be disclosed on Wednesday. "The student journey begins again! #SOTY2! The announcement of the final cast on Wednesday the 11th! Watch this space... Break a leg," the director-producer wrote.
'Mom' renewed for season six
Allison Janney-Anna Faris' "Mom" has been renewed for the sixth season. The comedy, in which the duo plays mother-daughter who are recovering from alcohol and substance abuse, got strong TRPs during its fifth season in the 9 p.m. Thursday slot, Variety reported. The announcement came after the series' wrap party over the weekend. "'Mom' has been a lynchpin comedy for us over the last several years. It's a fearless series that tackles provocative social issues with laughter and grace, and a large, loyal audience has followed. "With gifted talents like Anna and Allison leading a great ensemble cast, and a production team headed by Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, Nick Bakay and Gemma Baker, this series just keeps getting better," Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, said. The series is only behind "The Big Bang Theory" and "Young Sheldon" in terms of ratings. "Mom" also features Jaime Pressly, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, and William Fichtner also co-star.

Comic actor and children TV show host Chuck McCann passed away at the age of 83. The actor died due to congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center here, his publicist Edward Lozzi told The Hollywood Reporter. Born in New York City on September 2, 1934, McCann belonged to a family of performers - his grandfather was a part of Wild West Show in Buffalo Bill and his father, Val McCann, was a known band leader who served as the music arranger at New York's Roxy Theatre. McCann was also a puppeteer, nightclub comic, movie actor, voiceover performer and celebrity impersonator. He played an important supporting role in "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" (1968) and starred in the low-budget fantasy film "The Projectionist" (1971), his only feature role.
