Young 'Avengers' fan, who brought MCU together, dies

Eleven-year-old Emilio Pachon, the terminally ill boy who had wished to greet "Avengers" actors, has died. He was suffering from cancer from neurofibromatosis and passed away at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, a spokeswoman for his family's Genes Foundation told Newsday. News about Pachon went viral on social media after Shannon Bream from Fox News put a request online on his behalf that he wanted to connect with one of the actors in the Marvel franchise. Stars such as Chris Evans (Captain America from "Avengers"), Ryan Reynolds ("Deadpool"), Zachary Levi (Fandral in two "Thor" movies) and Chloe Bennet (TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D") came forward. 'Bombay Talkies' directors return with 'Lust Stories' for Netflix

Bollywood's top directors -- Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee -- are making an anthology film for Netflix on themes of love and lust. Titled "Lust Stories", the movie brings together the filmmakers after "Bombay Talkies" in 2013. Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP, which made "Love Per Square Foot" for Netflix, has produced "Lust Stories" with Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment. The film features Radhika Apte, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani. It will be available to over 117 million members of the streaming service in 190 countries simultaneously in June this year. Srijit's new film 'Uma' selected at top int'l film fests

Director Srijit Mukherji's new venture 'Uma', starring Jisshu Sengupta and Rudranil Ghosh, has been officially selected for this year's New York Indian Film Festival and London Indian Film Festival, a statement issued by producer Shree Venkatesh Films (SVF) said. The film also marks the debut of Jishhu Sengupta's elder daughter, Sara. Mukherjee said he is "humbled" by the response the film has been receiving at festivals abroad. "I am happy to learn that the story of 'Uma' is receiving positive response from film fraternities across the world," he said. The New York film fest is scheduled between May 7 and 12 and the London-based event in June. The film has been selected in the "feature category" of the two fests. India stamps its presence on Art Basel Hong Kong

With their A-list artists dominating booth walls, Indian galleries have put their best foot forward at the 'Art Basel in Hong Kong' fair that opened here today. The sixth edition of the annual fair has nine participating galleries from India Vadehra Art Gallery, Gallery Ske, Chemould Prescott, Sakshi Gallery, Jhaveri Contemporary, Gallery Espace, Experimenter, Nature Morte and Tarq. The works on display range from Kallat's recent Rain Study and Atul Dodiya's brand new work Camouflage to Gupta's 2015 set of three oil-on-canvas paintings and Kamath's intentionally incomplete terracotta sculptures. Kallat, who is known for his works on the cosmos, uses impressions of rain drops to create images of galaxy clusters in Rain Study.
