Four women stars to present lead acting Oscars

In what has colloquially become known as 'The Year of the Woman', the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has reportedly finalised four actresses to present this years lead acting awards at the 90th annual Oscars.

Jennifer Lawrence, Jodie Foster to present Best Actress at Oscars

Actors Jennifer Lawrence and Jodie Foster will reportedly present the Academy Award for Best Actress at the upcoming Oscars ceremony. Traditionally at the Oscars, the previous year's acting winners present the same categories for the opposite gender. But after actor Casey Affleck dropped out of the awards ceremony to avoid becoming a distraction, past Oscar winners Lawrence and Foster, will be presenting the Best Actress award at this year's ceremony, reported Variety. Affleck had said that he does not want to become distraction from the focus that should be on the performances of the actresses in the category, given previous allegations of sexual harassment against him. It is also reported that Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren will present the Best Actor award instead of last year's Best Actress winner Emma Stone. Jessica Alba joins 'Bad Boys' spinoff pilot

Actor Jessica Alba will star along side Gabrielle Union in the untitled "Bad Boys" spinoff drama pilot. The 36-year-old actor will also serve as the executive producer on the NBC project, along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Monroe, Doug Belgrad and Union. Union will reprise her "Bad Boys 2" role of Special Agent Syd Burnett. The TV pilot will focus on Burnett, who has a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD detective. She's partnered with Nancy McKenna, to be played by Alba, a working mom who can't help but look at Syd's freedom with some grass-is-greener envy. Nancy joined the Army out of high school and spent most of the 2000s in Iraq and Afghanistan. Women weren't allowed in combat so she joined the military police to get closer to the action and is now a detective raising two preteen step-kids with her husband. Hammer's wife sues impersonator for trying to get Oscar party invite

Actor Armie Hammer's wife Elizabeth Chambers has sued a woman who tried to get a ticket to Vanity Fair's exclusive Oscar after-party. According to a complaint filed in LA County Superior Court, Chambers claimed that the woman, Diana Roque Ellis, impersonated her and wrote multiple letters to the magazine seeking to gain access to the party. Chambers and Hammer, whose film "Call Me by Your Name" has been nominate for multiple Oscars, will be attending the Vanity Fair's party, reported Deadline. The complaint said that Ellis allegedly used a bogus email address to contact the magazine and, posing as the actor, asked to bring an extra guest to the party. When the magazine wrote back to her and asked for the guest's name, the impersonator said the name of "Diana Ellis". Chambers also said the Ellis even got hold of her home address to make it look more authentic.
