Rajasthani folk singer announces live musical series 'Rajasthan Bai-scope'

Rajasthani folk singer Manesha A Agarwal Saturday announced her live musical series 'Rajasthan Bai-scope' which she will perform in collaboration with local folk singers of the state. The first show will be held on March 12 at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) campus in Jaipur, she said. "The series is dedicated to female folk artists of the state. This will provide a platform to traditional women folk singers with whom I will be performing," Agarwal told reporters here. She informed that 10 such live concerts have been lined up and a web series based on the shows will also be prepared. "Bai-scope is a musical tribute to the phenomenal daughters of the desert and is celebration of the remarkable 'Sheroes' of Rajasthan," she added.

Actor Ben Affleck on Saturday sidestepped a question on veteran filmmaker Steven Spielberg's push for a rule change by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to exclude streaming services for Oscars eligibility. There have been reports that Spielberg will be speaking with the AMPAS's Board of Governors to insist for a rule change that will make films made by streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon ineligible for Oscars. Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara has tendered an apology after a report claimed that he helped a woman get auditions in exchange for sexual favours. A report by The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Charlotte Kirk, an aspiring actor, leveraged her extramarital affair with Tsujihara to get auditions and reading sessions with casting agents on the studio's projects. A Kerala-based film society is getting ready to commemmorate the 28th death anniversary of legendary filmmaker, late G Aravindan, one of the pioneers of parallel cinema in Malayalam. The Chalachithra Film Society would organise a public function at Kalabhavan Theatre here to mark the life and filmography of the iconic director-scriptwriter on March 15. Elton John to release memoir in October

Music legend Elton John has announced that he will coming out with his memoir in October this year. The 71-year-old music icon took to Twitter to share the news of the release of his official autobiography. "My life has been one helluva roller coaster ride and I'm now ready to tell you my story, in my own words. My first and only official autobiography will be released October 2019," he tweeted. According to his publisher, Henry Holt & Co, a division of Macmillan, the book will be a "no-holds-barred account" of John's life.
