Amanda Bynes sued by mental health facility for not paying bill
Hollywood actor Amanda Bynes has been sued by a mental health facility, where she recently received treatment, for not clearing her dues.Creative Care Treatment Center filed a lawsuit against Bynes, alleging that she owes the facility over USD 2,000 for a two-day inpatient stay in February.According to documents obtained by US Weekly, the lawsuit states that Bynes "was a client" at the CCT's "dual diagnosis residential treatment center"."Our monthly residential treatment rate is USD 37,000, divided by 30 days is USD 1,233.33 per day. Daily rate times 2 and rounded up is USD 2,467," the document stated.The 'Love Wrecked' actor's stay at the facility came days before E! Oscar dates shifted in 2021 and 2022 for Olympics, Super Bowl
The Oscars will take place in late February in 2021 and 2022 to accommodate the Olympics, Super Bowl and other events, organizers said Tuesday. Next year, the 92nd Oscars is set for February 9, but the following ceremonies will be on February 28, 2021 and February 27, 2022 -- the final Sundays of the month. "Timing of the 2022 Olympics, the Super Bowl and national holidays will keep the 2021 and 2022 dates on the last Sunday in February," the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and US network ABC said. "The Academy and ABC continue to evaluate dates for future years." The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) will pay tributes to noted playwright late Girish Karnad by screening some of his acclaimed films on Saturday. The films to be screened are "Ondanondu Kaladalli", "Kanooru Heggadithi", "Kaadu" and Jabbar Patel's "Umbartha" starring Karnad. Karnad, a multi-faceted genius who traversed worlds of literature, theatre and cinema with ease, died Monday in Bengaluru at the age of 81. In a career span of more than five decades, Karnad wore many hats, starting as a playwright, he excelled in several aspects of filmmaking, screenwriting, direction and acting, the NFAI said in a release Tuesday. Karnad's films blended ruralism, history and mythical pathos with contemporary themes, it said. The NFAI will be honouring the theatre stalwart by screening some of his acclaimed films "Ondanondu Kaladalli", "Kanooru Heggadithi", "Kaadu" and Jabbar Patel's "Umbartha" starring Karnad. Kannada film "Ondanondu Kaladalli" was screened Tuesday at National Film Archive of India in Pune, a statement from NFAI read. "Kanooru Heggadithi" and "Kaadu", both Kannada language films, will be showcased on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Marathi film "Umbartha" will close the retrospective on Saturday. RSS joint general secretary Manmohan Vaidya will confer the 'Narad Samman' journalism awards on June 29, which is likely to be attended by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. According to the RSS's communication wing Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra (IVSK), the awards are constituted in memory of the "first-ever and the most eminent journalist-scholar of the universe, namely Narad Maharishi". The IVSK has already invited applications from journalists based in Delhi-NCR for work done in 2018.
