Shah Rukh holding sword, not kirpan in 'Zero' poster: Makers

The makers of "Zero" told the Bombay High Court Friday that lead actor Shah Rukh Khan was holding a sword and not a 'kirpan' in the movie's poster and trailer. A division bench of Justices B P Dharmadhikari and S V Kotwal was hearing a petition filed by advocate Amritpal Singh Khalsa, claiming that the movie's trailer and poster has hurt sentiments of the Sikh community. The petition, filed earlier this month, sought a direction to the film's director and producers to delete the scenes where Shah Rukh is seen wearing a 'kirpan' (a sword or small dagger carried by Sikhs). The petition also sought a direction to the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) not to grant certification to the movie or to revoke it in case it has already been given. Amazon Prime Video Friday announced their upcoming Original series titled "Four More Shots Please!" The series revolves around the lives of four young urban Indian women. In the first season, this 10-part comedy, drama and romance series is anchored in the unceasing friendship between the four women and revolves around their relationships, work-life conflicts, ambitions and anxieties as they deal with being women in the India of 2018. Created in collaboration with Rangita Pritish Nandy and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, the show is directed by Anu Menon. Awkwafina joins Comedy Central series

Actor Awkwafina is set to star in a TV series for Comedy Central. The half-hour scripted show, which is inspired by Awkwafina's formative years in New York City, stars the "Crazy Rich Asians" star as a young woman with dreams of living large while still residing with her father and grandmother in Queens. According to Entertainment Weekly, BD Wong will play her father, Lori Tan Chinn will be in the role of her grandmother, and Bowen Yang will play her more successful cousin. "I am so honoured to be given their platform to tell the story of an Asian-American girl against the backdrop of the city I was raised," Awkwafina said in a statement. Comedy Central has ordered 10 episodes of the comedy, which does not yet have a premiere date.

Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar case: Daisy Shah records statement

In a fresh turn of events in the Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar row, actor Daisy Shah on Thursday recorded her statement before police.Shah, who was working as an assistant choreographer under Ganesh Acharya in 'Horn Ok Pleassss', was summoned at the Oshiwara police station. The notice mentioned that she was present on the sets while the special dance number was being shot.Tanushree has alleged that Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of the 2008 film while shooting for a special dance number for the movie, and later filed a first information report (FIR) against the 'Welcome' star.Patekar, however, has refused the allegations against him. His lawyer Aniket Nikam, told ANI, "All allegations against him (Nana Patekar) are false and far from the truth".

Bombay HC directs CBFC to examine 'Zero'

The Bombay High Court (HC) on Friday directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to examine Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero'. It has been alleged that the film has hurt sentiments of the Sikh community.The court further asked CBFC to submit the report before December 18.The court's decision comes as a response to a petition, filed by Amritpal Singh Khalsa, who sought removal of scenes where SRK has been shown wearing a 'Kirpan' in the film (article of Sikh faith), stating that the "display of the Kirpan in such a way is blasphemous."In addition to this, earlier this month, Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) general secretary, Manjinder Singh Sirsa sent a legal notice to Red Chillies Entertainment for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community in the upcoming film, which is being co-produced by Gauri Khan under SRK's home banner production.As a response to the legal notice by DSGMC against the Aanand L. Good scripts hard to come by in Bollywood: Amyra Dastur

Actor Amyra Dastur says it is incredibly tough, especially for outsiders, to get good scripts in the Hindi film industry. The actor, who has worked in films like "Issaq", "Mr X" and "Kung Fu Yoga", said she came on board Leena Yadav's "Rajma Chawal" because it is a content-driven story. "Good scripts are difficult to come by in the industry, especially if you are an outsider. For me, it has always been about acting and I will do films which are content- driven," Amyra told PTI. The actor, however, believes audience has started driving the demand for good content as they are rejecting even a big ticket film like Aamir Khan's "Thugs of Hindostan" if the story is not appealing. 'Daredevil' cancelled by Netflix

Streaming giant Netflix has decided to cancel Marvel's "Daredevil" after three seasons. The superhero drama, which starred Cox as the titular vigilante who operated as lawyer Matt Murdock by day, had kicked off Marvel TV's streaming universe.
