Kesha agrees to officiate same-sex wedding

Singer Kesha will be officiating a same-sex couple's wedding after they asked the pop star to marry them. The "Tik-Tok" hitmaker was at the premiere of her new documentary "Rainbow: The Film" at the Metrograph in New York when a couple, who she had previously been posing for pictures with, asked her to marry them. The conversation was recorded on camera and posted on TMZ as the unidentified pair said, "We want you to officiate our wedding." To which Kesha replied, "Well I do that! I do officiate, when are you getting married?" The girls said, "Whenever you're free!" The 31-year-old singer giggled and replied, "Well I'm going on tour but yeah I do officiate weddings. That's so sweet. This man and these ladies, they do my schedule. Are you engaged? Congratulations! Thats's so cute.

Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth 'Star Trek 4' future in doubt

Audiences may not be able to see Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth together in "Star Trek 4" as the talks between the two actors and the companies making the new installment, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media, have fallen apart. Pine was due to reprise his role as iconic sci-fi hero Captain Kirk, which he has inhabited for three movies, while Hemsworth was to have played his father in a time-travelling adventure. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pine and Hemsworth are said to be asking the studios to stick to existing deals. As per a source, Paramount contends that Trek is not like a Marvel or Star Wars movie and is trying to hold the line on a budget. The source said the actors insist they have deals in place and that the studios are reneging on them, forcing them to take pay cuts as they try to budget a movie that is following a mediocre performer. Singer-actor Justin Timberlake is set to release his first book, entitled "Hindsight & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me" The 37-year-old musician said the book will be filled with pictures and stories from his childhood to the present day. It will make it to the stalls on October 30. "Guys, I have some news! I've been working on this for a while now and I am happy to finally give you a first look at my first book, #Hindsight. I'm looking forward to sharing these pictures and stories with you. "It's coming out October 30th! 'Star Trek' star Nichelle Nichols diagnosed with dementia

"Star Trek" actor Nichelle Nichols has been diagnosed with dementia. TMZ has obtained documents filed in the 85-year-old's conservatorship in which Dr Meena Makhijani reportedly states that Nichols has been a patient of hers over the last two to three years and that she has "moderate progressive dementia." The website also reports that the doctor states in the documents that Nichols "has major impairment of her short-term memory and moderate impairment of understanding abstract concepts, sense of time, place and immediate recall." "There's no apparent impairment," however, when it comes to Nichols' "long-term memory, orientation of her body, comprehension, verbal communication, concentration, recognition of familiar people, as well as ability to reason logically and plan actions," the report claimed, citing the documents. Nichols started her career as Uhura in "Star Trek" on the TV series in the '60s. The actor even appeared at Comic-Con last month to discuss her iconic role.

Model Aisha Sharma will be making her Bollywood debut with "Satyameva Jayate" and she says it is a conscious decision to choose roles that are "different". Aisha, who will be seen alongside John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee in her first film, believes it is easy for a newcomer to get slotted on the basis of looks. "When you look a certain way it is easy for people to cast you in a certain roles. Slotting does happen. I have made conscious effort to choose roles that are out of the box. Singer-composer Tochi Raina says poetry in songs has died down resulting in deterioration of the quality of music being produced. Tochiwho has sung popular tracks like "Ik Tara", "Kabira"says today anyone can play two strings on a guitar and write a track but they lack depth. "The standard of music has fallen badly today which has affected the poetry in songs. The poetry is dead today and without it the music can never be good. It's our responsibility to bring back these things," Tochi told PTI. "In the older times, people were inherently philosophers who would train in music and then compose songs. Today, the generation doesn't know philosophy, they pick up guitar, play two strings and make a song. So the poetry died and the standard fell," he added.
