Veteran actor Simi Garewal will pay tribute to legendary star Shashi Kapoor by hosting the screening of his 1972 film "Sidhartha" at theIndian Film Festival of Melbourne next month. Garewal, who was Kapoor's co-star in the film, will host the screening as a special commemoration for the late actor, following which she will also participate in a special question and answer session with the audience. "'Siddhartha' keeps getting a resurgence every new decade. And in the west, I find that even though Shashi has done a lot of films with Ismail Merchant, people still remember him for 'Siddhartha'," Garewal said in a statement. Kapoor, known for his roles in films like "Deewaar", "Kabhie Kabhie", "Namak Halaal", "Kaala Patthar" and others, died in Mumbai in December last year at the age of 79. The festival runs from August 10 to 22.

Veteran actor Jane Fonda has announced that a sequel to her hit 1980 comedy "9 to 5" might happen soon. HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys has revealed that the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" will premiere in the "first half" of 2019. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bloys made the revelation during the the Television Critics Association press tour and also said the final season is "pretty great". "I'm not going to talk about what to expect (from the final season) although it's pretty great. I don't think we've announced a date yet so sometime in '19 first half," Bloys said. He also talked about five "Game of Thrones" spin-offs and said that network is currently only working on one of them. "We are doing a pilot that Jane Goodman wrote. Out of five, we'd be lucky to get one that we're very excited about it. We're just starting the search for a director (and) casting director," he said. Actor Ryan Reynolds is all set to produce the stoner comedy "Stoned Alone" for Twentieth Century Fox. According to Variety, the 41-year-old actor might also star in the project apart from producing it. The new comedy is inspired by family film "Home Alone", but with a R-rated slant. The film, to be helmed by Augustine Frizzell, will follow a 20-something loser who misses the plane for his holiday ski trip and gets high at home only to then discover that thieves have broken into his house. The screenplay has been penned by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider from an idea by Fox executive Matt Reilly. Reynolds will produce the project through his banner Maximum Effort, with George Dewey as executive producer. The actor most recently starred in "Deadpool 2", which grossed over USD 700 million at the global box office.
