Apple supplier Foxconn officials call on CM Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad

A delegation of Taiwan-based contract manufacturer Foxconn on Tuesday met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who assured them the required support for the operations of its manufacturing centre at Kongara Kalan near here. A press release from the CMO said the state government will also extend all necessary support to upcoming projects which are being undertaken by Foxconn. Foxconn Group, which will be investing USD 550 million in Telangana, entered into an agreement with the state government in March this year assuring them to create one lakh jobs by setting up an electronics manufacturing unit. In the first phase, the company will provide 25,000 jobs in the next two years. The firm held a groundbreaking ceremony in May for the facility to make Apple AirPods. The proposed electronics manufacturing facility at Kongara Kalan near here is a milestone for the Taiwanese firm's global expansion strategy diversifying its global manufacturing base, a press release had earlier said. Office demand jumps 92% in Oct-Dec in top 6 cities in 2023: Colliers

Office space demand surged 92 per cent during October-December period across six major cities on better demand of workspace from corporates and coworking operators, according to Colliers India. Real estate consultant Colliers India report shows that gross leasing of office space stood at 20.2 million square feet in the fourth quarter of this calendar year from 10.5 million square feet in the year-ago period. Helped by strong demand during the December quarter, the total leasing of office space rose 16 per cent to 58.2 million square feet during the 2023 calendar year from 50.3 million square feet last year. Colliers tracks office demand and supply of 6 cities -- Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. Gross leasing or absorption does not include lease renewals, pre-commitments and deals where only a letter of intent has been signed. According to the data, the office space leasing in Bengaluru rose 58 per cent to 5.5 million square feet during October-December .

AIMIM retains its 7 seats, continues to hold sway in Old City of Hyderabad

The Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) continued to hold sway over its traditional bastion of the Old City of Hyderabad as it retained the seven seats held by it in the outgoing Telangana Assembly on Sunday. AIMIM candidates won from seven out of the nine seats it contested in the Telangana assembly election. The party, which has held on to these seven segments in the outgoing assembly, has been winning from these seats since 2009. SP declares highest assets among regional parties, BRS second: ADR

Samajwadi Party declared the highest assets among regional parties in the year 2021-22, followed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, a report by a democratic reform think tank said. According to Association for Democratic Reforms, during the financial year 2020-21, SP declared assets totalling Rs 561.46 crore, which increased by 1.23 per cent to Rs 568.369 crore in 2021-22. The party was followed by BRS which declared total assets of Rs 319.55 crore in FY 2020-21 and Rs 512.24 crore in FY 2021-22. Between the two years, the total assets of DMK, BJD, and JD(U) increased by 95 per cent. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam declared assets worth Rs 115.708 crore in 2020-21, which increased by 244.88 per cent to over Rs 399 crore in 2021-22. The Biju Janata Dal had declared assets worth over Rs 194 crore in 2020-21, which increased by 143 per cent to Rs 474 crore in 2021-22, while JD(US) declared assets worth Rs 86 crore in 2020-21, which went up by over 95 per cent to Rs 168 crore in 2021-22. Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Monday said Hyderabad would be renamed as 'Bhagyanagar' if his party comes to power in the state. Reddy, who spoke to reporters here, said the names of cities like Madras, Bombay and Calcutta have been changed. "Yes. PM Modi to address MRPS rally in Hyderabad today ahead of T'gana polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a rally being organised by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi, a community organisation of Madigas, one of the biggest constituents of scheduled castes in Telugu states, at the Parade Ground here on Saturday. This is Modi's second rally in a row in the city after the notification for the polls was announced on November 3. MRPS has been demanding sub-categorisation of reservation for the Scheduled Caste communities for over three decades.
