First flight lands at Manohar International Airport in Goa from Hyderabad

The first passenger flight arrived at the Manohar International Airport in Goa from Hyderabad on Thursday, marking the commencement of operations at the new facility in the coastal state. The IndiGo flight from Hyderabad landed at 9 am at the new airport located at Mopa in North Goa district, airport officials said. Union Minister Shripad Naik and Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte were present to welcome the passengers at the terminal building of the airport. Naik and Khaunte also presented symbolic dummy boarding passes to passengers scheduled to travel to Hyderabad in another IndiGo flight, the first one to take off from the new airport in Goa on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the first phase of the new airport on December 11, 2022. The airport has been named after late Manohar Parrikar, the former defence minister who had also served as the chief minister of Goa. DRI seizes mephedrone worth Rs 50 crore during raids on labs in Hyderabad

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday said it has busted two clandestine drug manufacturing labs here and seized around 25 kg of mephedrone worth around Rs 50 crore. The agency, in a release, said it neutralised the entire network by arresting seven persons besides the mastermind and financier. Acting on the basis of specific intelligence inputs, DRI began a well-coordinated operation on December 21, and busted the two clandestine labs, it said. A total of 24.885 kg of mephedrone in finished form, valued at Rs 49.77 crore in the grey market, along with in-process materials, sale proceeds of Rs 18.90 lakh, key raw materials, machinery and vehicles used for trafficking, was seized during raids on the two labs, it said. Seven persons carrying out the manufacturing in these two locations were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Bosch Global Software Technologies(BGSW) on Wednesday inaugurated its new smart campus here to strengthen its software-centric product innovations. The Centre of Excellence is a technology and innovation R&D hub focused on automotive engineering and digital enterprise, BGSW said in a statement. BGSW has two facilities already operational with a professional workforce of about 1,500 associates in Hyderabad. GMR Hyderabad International Airport raises Rs 1,150 cr through NCDs

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) which manages Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here on Wednesday said it has raised funds through the issuance of 10 year Listed, Rated, Redeemable, Secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) amounting to Rs 1,150 crore on private placement basis. A press release form the company said the NCDs which were raised on Tuesday will be listed on BSE Limited. The NCDs have been priced at an interest rate of 8.805 per cent per annum payable quarterly for an initial period of five years and thereafter the interest rate will be reset for next five years. The issue has been subscribed by eligible investors (Qualified Institutional Buyers, registered under SEBI). The proceeds from the NCDs will be utilised for partial refinancing of about USD 140 Million of the existing ( External Commercial Borrowings) ECB Bonds of 2024 and 2026, for which tendering has been completed, along with accrued interest and other issue expenses. Gold worth Rs 1.37 crore seized by customs officials at Hyderabad airport

The Customs on Saturday seized gold biscuits and jewellery, totalling 2.9 kilograms valued at Rs 1.37 crore, from a passenger at the international airport here, an official said. Hyderabad Airport Customs intercepted the passenger who arrived by a flight from Dubai, according to an official release. In his baggage, 24-karat gold weighing 1,547 grams and 18-karat jewellery weighing 1,414 grams at a combined value of Rs 1.37 crore was seized, said Dulip Abraham, Deputy Commissioner of Customs (RGIA-Hyderabad), in a release.
