Over 42.3 million ITRs for fiscal 2019-20 filed till December 27

Over 4.23 crore taxpayers have filed their Income Tax Returns for Assessment Year 2020-21 (fiscal year 2019-20) till December 27, the Income Tax department said on Monday. "More than 4.23 crore Income Tax Returns for AY 2020-21 have already been filed till 27th of December, 2020. Have you filed yours? If not filed as yet, don't wait. File your #ITR for AY 2020-21 TODAY!," the Income Tax department tweeted. This includes over 2.38 crore taxpayers filing ITR-1, over 92.26 lakh filing ITR-4, over 51.05 lakh ITR-3 and over 31.09 lakh filing ITR-2. The deadline to file Income Tax Returns (ITRs) by individual taxpayers for 2019-20 fiscal (Assessment Year 2020-21) ends on December 31, 2020, while the same for taxpayers whose accounts require to be audited is January 31, 2021. The due date was extended from July 31and October 31, 2020, respectively in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. I-T refunds worth Rs 1.40 tn issued to about 6 mn taxpayers in 8 months

The Income Tax Department has issued refunds worth over Rs 1.40 lakh crore to more than 59.68 lakh taxpayers this fiscal till December 1. This include personal income tax (PIT) refunds amounting to Rs 38,105 crore and corporate tax refunds of over Rs 1.02 lakh crore during this period. "CBDT issues refunds of over Rs 1,40,210 crore to more than 59.68 lakh taxpayers between 1st April,2020 to 01st December,2020. Income tax refunds of Rs 38,105 crore have been issued in 57,68,926 cases & corporate tax refunds of Rs 1,02,105 crore have been issued in 1,99,165 cases," the I-T Department tweeted.

I-T refunds worth Rs 1.36 lakh cr issued to 4.1 mn taxpayers till Nov 24

The Income Tax Department has issued refunds worth over Rs 1.36 lakh crore to over 41 lakh taxpayers so far this fiscal. This includes personal income tax (PIT) refunds amounting to Rs 36,028 crore and corporate tax refunds of over Rs 1 lakh crore during this period. CBDT issues refunds of over Rs 1,36,962 crore to more than 41.25 lakh taxpayers between 1st April, 2020 to 24th November,2020. Income tax refunds of Rs 36,028 crore have been issued in 39,28,067 cases & corporate tax refunds of Rs 1,00,934 crore have been issued in 1,96,880 cases, the I-T Department tweeted.
