Nadda reviews hospital preparedness amid ongoing India-Pakistan conflict

Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Friday reviewed health infrastructure preparedness across hospitals in the country amid the ongoing India-Pakistan military conflict, official sources said. During the meeting, senior officials of the health ministry briefed him about the preparedness of health facilities and informed him that complete monitoring is being done from the control centre. Equity MF inflow dips in April; industry AUM hits record ₹70 trillion

Inflow in equity mutual funds dipped 3.24 per cent to Rs 24,269 crore in April amid continued market volatility against the backdrop of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. This was the fourth consecutive month of decline in inflow in equity funds. Also, the latest fund infusion by investors marks the 50th consecutive month of net inflows into the segment. Apart from equity, debt funds registered an inflow of Rs 2.19 lakh crore in the month under review after seeing a withdrawal of Rs 2.02 lakh crore in March. Overall, the mutual fund industry experienced an infusion of Rs 2.77 lakh crore in April as compared to an outflow of Rs 1.64 lakh crore in the preceding month. Imran Khan's party seeks his release amid rising India-Pakistan tensions

A petition was filed in a Pakistani court on Friday for the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan due to the fear of a drone attack on the prison where he is kept, amidst tensions with India. Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in a WhatsApp message said that the party's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur approached the Islamabad High Court for the release of the party founder. Khan, 72, been incarcerated in Adiala Jail of Rawalpindi, the garrison city. The Islamabad High Court has been approached for the release of Imran Khan. An application has been filed by Chief Minister KP Ali Amin, it stated. BSF kills 7 terrorists in Jammu, destroys Pak Rangers post: Reports

The Border Security Force on Friday said it has killed seven terrorists who were trying to infiltrate from across the India-Pakistan International Border in Jammu, and also destroyed a Rangers post. The incident took place in the Samba sector on the intervening night of May 8-9 after a "big group" of terrorists was detected by the surveillance grid. This infiltration bid was supported by fire from Pakistan Rangers post Dhandhar, a BSF spokesperson said. He said the troops neutralised the infiltration bid, killing at least seven terrorists and caused extensive damage to the Dhandhar post It also shared a thermal imager clip of the destruction of the said post. Woman killed, two injured in Pakistani shelling near LoC in Uri sector

A woman was killed and two of her family members injured after Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling in areas near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Friday. They said the Indian Army has responded proportionately to the Pakistani aggression. Officials said the Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the LoC and resorted to heavy shelling in civilian areas in Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday night. Pakistan targeted many areas of Uri, including Silikot, Boniyar, Kamalkote, Mohra and Gingle. The heavy shelling caused damage to several structures, forcing the people to flee, the officials added. They said three members of a family were injured when a shell hit their car near Mohra while they were trying to escape the shelling. The injured were rushed to a hospital where a woman, identified as Nargis Begum, succumbed to injuries, the officials said.

Enhanced security measures in place at airports; operations normal

Delhi airport has said that operations are normal and some flights have been impacted due to changing airspace conditions and heightened security. In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has put in place enhanced security arrangements. In a post on X, DIAL said operations remain normal at the airport while some flights are impacted due to changing airspace conditions and heightened security. "Please check with your airline for the latest updates. We urge everyone to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing unverified information. We're working closely with all stakeholders to minimise any inconvenience," DIAL said. On Thursday, at least 90 flights to and from the Delhi airport were cancelled. 7-hour blackout in Gujarat border districts amid India-Pakistan tensions

A total blackout for more than 7 hours was enforced in several parts of the border districts of Kutch and Banaskantha in Gujarat on Thursday night amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan, officials have said. Both Kutch and Banaskantha districts share a border with Pakistan. Officials confirmed that several parts of Kutch, including Bhuj, Nalia, Nakhatrana and Gandhidham towns, were put under total blackout as a precautionary measure to deter any offensive gesture by Pakistan. The lights went out around 10 pm on Thursday, and power was back after 5.30 am on Friday, they said. Similarly, blackouts were declared in Suigam and 20 villages in its vicinity in the Banaskantha district, they said.
