Supreme Court judge Kurian Joseph today asked the Centre not to delay appointments in higher judiciary and clear the names in a time-bound manner after getting the recommendations from the collegium. Amid speculation that the Centre was mulling increasing the age of superannuation of judges of the apex court and the high courts, Justice Joseph suggested that the age of retirement be raised to 70 years. A bench of justices A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan termed the conduct of Ravi Kapoor in jail as "unsatisfactory" and set aside the order of Delhi High Court granting him parole and bail. The high court had granted him bail and paroles in three different cases on the ground of allowing him to file appeal in apex court against his life sentence awarded to him in one case. The bench said though it is very liberal in granting parole to the accused but in the instant case, Kapoor can easily file appeal in apex court from jail as per the prison norms. Online newspaper El Confidencial had reported earlier this month that wiretaps from a corruption probe involving then-Barca president Sandro Rosell indicated that the club may have illegally procured the new liver which Abidal, a former France international, received in April 2012 from Gerard Armand. But Armand was adamant that there had been nothing untoward. "Nothing, not a penny. How can I wonder about it? I simply gave an organ to save a member of my family," he told French newspaper La Depeche du Midi. "I didn't think about it, it was a good, normal action that anyone would do to help a sick relative." Spain's National Transplant Organisation, which is run by the health ministry, investigated Abidal's transplant
