Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's Flying Squad today busted employees of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) and other departments and their brokers for allegedly running a cash-for-job racket. "They would take money from aspirants for getting them selected for government jobs. The squad has also made some arrests," an official spokesman said here. He said the chief minister, who had received several complaints regarding some employees allegedly running a racket, ordered the Flying Squad to investigate the matter and catch the culprits. A magistrate's court in Gujarat's Banaskantha district today summoned Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor in a defamation suit filed by the district superintendent of police. Judicial magistrate S V Modalia asked Thakor to remain present in the court in Deesa town on May 3. A 14-year-old boy today died of a gunshot injury caused by an accidental fire from a rifle at his residence in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district tonight, police said. Gagan Ram, son of Raja Ram, was injured after the rifle of a village defence committee (VDC) member accidentally went off, they added. The Supreme Court today said that dedicated cells should be constituted in high courts where footage of CCTV cameras installed in courts across the country could be viewed from time to time. A bench of Justices A K Goel and R F Nariman said that high courts might also consider the suggestions of senior advocate Sidharth Luthra, assisting the court as an amicus curiae in the matter, regarding the issue concerning identity of victims of sexual offences and protected witnesses. Luthra told the bench that privacy of such victims and witnesses have to be protected and the Centre should come out with norms in this regard. "This may be considered by the high courts," the bench said. The Centre sought time from the court to come out with a report about the status of installation of CCTV cameras in various tribunals in the country. A minor boy has been apprehended for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today. The boy has been charged under Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) Section 376 and sent to a juvenile home in R S Pura on court orders, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Tousief Rishi said.
