Defying the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) summons, Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday took part in a roadshow for the party's Assembly elections candidate in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli city. He was accompanied by Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. Kejriwal, who is the AAP's national convener, did not appear before the ED for questioning in the Delhi excise policy-linked case earlier in the day, and instead wrote to the agency demanding the withdrawal of the notice summoning him claiming it was "illegal and politically motivated". He and Mann took part in a roadshow here for the party candidate from Singrauli and AAP's state president Rani Agrawal. Agrawal is also the mayor of the Singrauli city, a major electricity generation hub. She won the mayoral election last year, springing a surprise in a state dominated by the BJP and Congress. The polls for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly will be held on November 17.

Digvijaya denies 'differences' with Kamal Nath, calls it BJP's propaganda

Ahead of the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Sunday denied having differences with state Congress president Kamal Nath and claimed such reports were a propaganda of the ruling BJP. Singh in a statement noted several newspapers have claimed that he cancelled his visits to Jhabua and Khategaon due to his displeasure. The factionalism in the BJP is at its peak these days and to cover it up they are sponsoring and spreading false news of rift among Congress leaders, especially between Kamal Nath and me. Every leader of the Congress is united and determined to defeat the BJP, Singh said in a statement. The Rajya Sabha member further said he cancelled his Jhabua and Khategaon visits as the AICC general secretary wanted to discuss some issues of organisational and electoral importance. Madhya Pradesh polls: Amit Shah to address public meeting in Ujjain today

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Sunday address a public meeting in Ujjain and take part in a series of meetings of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, where the assembly polls are scheduled next month. Shah is on a three-day visit to the state from Saturday. On Sunday, after garlanding the statue of Raja Bhoj in state capital Bhopal, Shah will head to Khajuraho to take part in a meeting of Sagar division of the BJP, party sources said. He will later go to Rewa to address the party workers of Rewa and Shahdol divisions, they said. In the evening, Shah will head to Ujjain to offer prayers at the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple and address a public meeting. He will also address the party workers of Ujjain division. Madhya Pradesh BJP president VD Sharma will accompany Shah during his ongoing visit to the state. Elections to the 230-member state assembly will be held on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls: Amit Shah on three-day visit to state

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a three-day visit to poll-bound Madhya Pradesh starting Saturday, a party release said. He will visit Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Bhopal, Chhatarpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Ujjain, Indore and Gwalior districts and address divisional meetings, public gatherings and take part in different functions during the visit, it said. On Saturday, Shah will pay tributes to tribal martyrs king Shankar Shah and his son Raghunath Shah near Rani Durgawati Hospital in Jabalpur at 12.50 pm. He will then address a meeting at the Bharatiya Janata Party's Jabalpur divisional office at 1.30 pm, the BJP release added. At 3.40 pm, Shah will address a public meeting at Junnardeo in Chhindwara district. He will then address a meeting of the BJP's Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions, it said. Assembly polls will be held on November 17 in MP, while counting of votes will take place on December 3.
