Police have questioned a friend of Lalit Mohan Jha, a key accused in the Parliament security breach incident, for hours in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, an officer said. A team from Barrackpore Police Commissionerate visited Nilakahya Aich's Halisahar residence on Thursday and asked him about his acquaintance with Jha during the days when the accused was working for an NGO, he said. "We talked with the person for hours to know about his friendship with Jha. We got information about him from Delhi Police," the officer told PTI. Aich, who is an undergraduate student at a college in West Bengal, has received a video of the security breach at Parliament from Jha soon after the incident, police said. "We have checked Aich's mobile phone and noted down certain information, which may be vital in our investigation," the police officer said. Four persons arrested in connection with the security breach in Parliament have been charged under the anti-terror law UAPA besides sections of the Indian Penal Code while key conspirator Lalit Mohan Jha was held on Thursday evening, police sources said. The government on Thursday asserted that a high-level inquiry has been initiated into the Lok Sabha security breach incident and asked the opposition not to politicise the issue. In a statement soon after the House assembled at 2 PM, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said "we all agree" that the unfortunate incident on Wednesday was a serious one concerning safety and security of MPs. The parents of Amol Shinde, a man from Maharashtra's Latur who was arrested for protesting outside Parliament, said their son always wanted to join the army and sought Rs 4,000 per month from them to study further, which they were unable to provide. They said he participated in army and police recruitment drives at various places, including Assam, and even worked as a daily wage labourer as he was unemployed.
