WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration said late on Tuesday it has withdrawn or delayed more than 2,200 regulatory actions since taking office in January 2017 as it vows to reduce the role of government.

The Palestinians have won backing to lead the biggest bloc of developing countries at the United Nations, raising their profile at the world body despite opposition from the United States. The General Assembly on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly to grant the observer-state of Palestine temporary rights to act as chair of the Group of 77 plus China, a bloc that has grown to 134 countries at the United Nations. Pompeo to visit Turkey for talks on missing Saudi journalist, bilateral issues
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would visit Turkey to hold talks on key bilateral issues and the disappearance of Saudi Arabia's dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to his spokesperson. Khashoggi, 59, a Washington Post contributor, is feared killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. He has not been seen since entering the kingdom's mission two weeks ago. Pak agencies working with Iranian counterparts to recover abducted Iranian guards: FO
Pakistan on Tuesday said that its security agencies are working with their Iranian counterparts to ascertain the whereabouts of 12 Iranian border guards who have been abducted by unknown militants near its border. The Iranian guards were abducted by terrorists between 4am and 5am in the Lulakdan, a small village some 150-km southeast of Zahedan, the capital of the province of Sistan-Balochistan bordering Pakistan, according to Iranian media. "Pakistan has noted with concern the reports of abduction of 12 Iranian border guards from Iran," the Foreign Office said. "Both militaries, under a joint mechanism established since last year, are working to ascertain the whereabouts of Iranian guards," it said in a statement. The director generals of military operations from the two sides are coordinating actions to recover them, it said. So far no group has claimed responsibility for kidnapping the Iranian guards.
