Construction steel bar manufacturer Kamdhenu on Tuesday posted an 18 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 18.7 crore in September quarter, mainly on account of reduced expenses. It had clocked a net profit of Rs 15.9 crore in July-September period of FY25, the TMT (Thermo-Mechanical Treatment) bar player said in an exchange filing. During the reporting quarter, the company also saw its revenues growing to Rs 191.14 crore from Rs 190 in the second quarter a year ago. Kamdhenu trimmed expenses to Rs 169.15 crore from 175.24 crore in the year ago quarter. In a separate statement, the company's CMD Satish Kumar Agarwal said, "During the quarter, some of our key operating regions witnessed abnormal weather conditions and extended periods of rainfall. This temporarily impacted volumes and revenue growth. However, this is a one-off seasonal effect, and we expect momentum to normalize as conditions improve." Emcure Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday reported a 25 per cent increase in profit after tax to Rs 251 crore in the September quarter, aided by strong sales performance across domestic and export markets. The drug firm posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 202 crore during the July-September quarter of the last fiscal. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 2,270 crore in the second quarter as against Rs 2,002 crore in the year-ago period, Emcure Pharmaceuticals said in a statement. "We continue to augment our portfolio in all our focus markets through in-licensing and in-house developments. State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has reported an 18 per cent fall in its second-quarter net profit due to lower oil prices. The company's net profit stood at Rs 9,848 crore in July-September -- the second quarter of 2025-26 financial year -- compared to Rs 11,984 crore earnings in the same period a year back, ONGC said in a statement. The fall in profit of India's biggest oil explorer was primarily a decline in crude oil prices -- from USD 78.33 per barrel in Q2 of FY25 to USD 67.34 in the current fiscal. The crude oil that ONGC pumps from the ground and from beneath the seabed is sold to refineries, which process it into fuels like petrol and diesel. Reliance Power has reported a net profit of Rs 87 crore for the quarter ended September 30, supported by an increase in revenues. As per media statement issued late Monday, the company had reported a loss of Rs 352 crore in the second quarter of FY25. "Q2FY26 PAT was at Rs 87 crore (USD 10 million) vs Q2FY25 loss Rs 352 crore (USD 41 million)," Reliance Power said. The company saw its total income growing to Rs 2,067 crore during the quarter, up from Rs 1,963 crore in the year ago period. The board of the company also approved "seeking enabling resolution from members for raising up to USD 600 million through issue of foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs) to fund growth."
