The Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad and Narcotics Control Bureau jointly raided four units in the state and neighbouring Rajasthan and nabbed 13 persons allegedly with mephedrone worth Rs 230 crore, an official said on Saturday. The raids were carried out on Friday after the ATS received a tip off that Ahmedabad-resident Manoharlal Enani and Kuldeepsinh Rajpurohit of Rajasthan had set up mephedrone manufacturing units. A watch was kept on the movements of Enani and Rajpurohit as well as their accomplices, following which raids were carried out on units in Sirohi and Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Piplaj village in Gandhinagar and Bhaktinagar industrial area of Amreli district in Gujarat, an ATS release informed. "The ATS recovered 22.028 kilograms of mephedrone and 124 kilograms of liquid mephedrone, collectively worth Rs 230 crore. Avaada Energy on Thursday said it closed a refinancing deal of Rs 4,471 crore with National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) for its four solar projects in Rajasthan. The financing from NaBFID will enable Avaada Energy to prepay existing loans to multiple lenders. The facility, sanctioned and disbursed as a 20-year rupee term loan, achieves significant commercial improvements over the earlier facilities prepaid, the company said in a statement. "Avaada Energy is pleased to announce the successful closure of one of the largest refinancing transactions in India's renewable energy sector, securing about Rs 4,471 crore (USD 535 million) from the state-owned lender NaBFID," the statement said. This refinancing transaction, conducted under Restricted Group (RG) structure, encompasses four inter-state transmission system-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of 1,700 MWp. Over 800 crore worth of cash, liquor, precious metals and other suspected inducements were seized by different enforcement agencies in Rajasthan ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. According to the data released by the Election Commission, Rajasthan ranks first in the country in terms of seizure of inducements. State Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that a record Rs 812.77 crore worth of seizures have been made since March 1. These include cash worth Rs 36.79 crore, liquor worth Rs 41.71 crore, drugs worth Rs 121.79 crore, gold and silver including other precious metals worth Rs 49.21 crore, freebies worth more than Rs 563 crore and other suspicious items.
