Housing sales across nine major cities fell 13 per cent annually during January-March quarter to 98,761 units on lower fresh supply of inventories amid West Asia conflict, according to PropEquity. Real estate research firm PropEquity on Monday pointed out that the sales have fallen below 1 lakh units mark after 18 quarters. The nine major cities are Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. As per the data, housing sales fell 13 per cent to 98,761 units during January-March this year compared to 1,13,602 units in the year-ago period. The total sales in these nine cities declined 6 per cent from 1,05,527 units in the previous quarter (October-December 2025). Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd (ABREL) will redevelop a housing society in Mumbai and expects a revenue of Rs 1,700 crore from free-saleable area. In a regulatory filing on Friday, the company said its subsidiary Birla Estates Pvt Ltd has entered into the redevelopment market with its first project in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Birla Estates will redevelop Anmol Co-operative Housing Society and Bhartiya Bhavan Co-operative Housing Society in Khar West, Mumbai's Western Suburbs. The project is being developed under a joint redevelopment arrangement with Parinee Real Estate Builders. "With a saleable area of 2.9 lakh sq ft, the project has an estimated revenue potential of Rs 1,700 crore," ABREL said. Birla Estates develops premium residential housing in key markets. In a regulatory filing on Monday, Nexus Select Trust, a REIT sponsored by Blackstone, said it has entered into a tie-up for an under-construction development. "The REIT has agreed to acquire a 50 per cent stake in the upcoming Nexus Runwal Gardens Mall in Dombivli, part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), to be operated in partnership with Runwal Enterprises," the filing said. In a regulatory filing on Monday, the Mumbai-based company informed that it has "entered into a joint development agreement to develop an 18-acre land parcel in Thane, Mumbai. The company did not name the landowner with whom it has signed the agreement.
