State-owned SJVN on Monday said its arm SJVN Green Energy and Assam's power distribution company APDCL have inked a pact to form a joint venture to set up 1,000 MW floating solar projects worth Rs 6,000 crore in Assam. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, informed in a statement that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between SJVN's wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) and APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) in Guwahati. According to the statement, the MoU has been inked for developing 1,000 MW floating solar power projects in Assam by incorporating a joint venture company in the presence of the state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The MoU was signed by Sharma and APDCL managing director Rakesh Kumar. Sharma said that the project will generate 2,192 million units in the first year after commissioning, and around 50,425 million units cumulative energy will be generated over 25 years. State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday inked a pact with Tata Power Solar Systems to build a 1,000 MW solar project worth Rs 5,500 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. "SJVN today entered into an EPC agreement for 1,000 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan with M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd," a company statement said. State-run SJVN Ltd has bagged a 90 MW floating solar project worth Rs 585 crore at Omkareshwar, in Madhya Pradesh. SJVN has bagged 90 MW Floating Solar Project at the rate of Rs 3.26/Unit on Build Own and Operate basis in a tender floated by REWA Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL), Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN said in a statement. SJVN will develop this project in the country's largest floating solar park at Omkareshwar in Khandwa District of Madhya Pradesh. According to the statement, the cost of developing this project will be approximately Rs 585 crore. After commissioning, the project will generate 219 Million Units in the first year and 5,158 Million Units over a period of 25 years. The Power Purchase Agreement will be signed between RUMSL and SJVN for 25 years. The project shall be commissioned within a period of 15 months from the date of signing of PPA. State-owned SJVN Ltd on Friday said it has got a letter of intent (LoI) for supply of 200 MW solar power to Bihar. "Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) has issued LoI for procurement of 200 MW of power at a discovered tariff of Rs 3.11 per kWh from...SJVN from the company's grid connected solar power project being implemented in the state of Bihar," a company statement said.
