The loss to Delhi Capitals notwithstanding, Kings XI Punjab coach Mike Hesson reckons that "destiny is in our own hands" as far as making the IPL playoffs is concerned. The visiting Kings XI Punjab suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals in the return leg match. The mid-table team now has five wins and as many reverses from 10 outings in the ongoing 12th edition of the league. "We played good cricket and there was probably only one game, in which we were a bit disappointing, and that was against RCB when we were below our own standards, but outside of that we have actually played very well, I think," Hesson said at the post-match press conference on Saturday night. The former New Zealand coach added, "The destiny is in our own hands and, when we come to the back end of the tournament, that's what you want. "And you know that if you play well you give yourself good chance of winning. We gave ourselves a decent chance tonight. And I am very proud in terms of the way
Opportunities in the IPL have been few and far between for Sandeep Lamichhane and Nepal's teenage spinner says he has to "prove" himself every time he gets a chance. His three wickets, including that of Chris Gayle, played an influential role in Delhi Capitals' five-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab, which broke their jinx at home here on Saturday night. "I have always wanted to do my job. I have to prove myself every time I get my chance," the 18-year-old leg-spinner said at the post-match press conference. This was Delhi's second win in five outings here, with one coming in the Super Over, and sixth overall. Considering the talent and the results, he may not have played as many matches as he would have loved to, but Lamichhane has no complaints. "Sometimes it feels disappointing (being not picked in the playing XI), but at the end of the day, you need good reserves and I think they have got much more knowledge on cricket. "They have plans in their minds and that's why they chose ..

Barcelona are closing in on their eighth La Liga title in 11 years after Clement Lenglet and Jordi Alba both scored in a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday. Victory means Barca only have to beat Alaves on Tuesday and then Levante next Saturday to be crowned champions at Camp Nou, while three points against Alaves will be enough on its own if Atletico Madrid then lose to Valencia on Wednesday. Whether in three days or seven, it is now surely only a matter of when rather than if Ernesto Valverde's side successfully defend their trophy, despite Atletico keeping the gap to nine points after they edged past Eibar earlier on Saturday. "We have to get it out of our heads that we are nine points clear," Valverde said. "We now have three days until we play again and it will be difficult." Wrapping it up early though would allow Barcelona the luxury of focusing completely on the Champions League, which could give them an advantage over their semi-final opponents Liverpool, who seem to be ...
N'Golo Kante has warned Chelsea to cut out their sloppy second halfs as the Blues look to boost their bid to finish in the Premier League's top four against Burnley on Monday. Maurizio Sarri's side advanced to the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday with a 4-3 win over Slavia Prague. But what should have been a stroll into the last four after the hosts raced into a 4-1 half-time lead ended up as a tense finish when Chelsea let Slavia score twice early in the second half. It is not the first time Chelsea have shown a lack of concentration after the interval this term, with Liverpool scoring twice in the second half to beat them 2-0 just days earlier. Everton did exactly the same in another Chelsea defeat in March and France midfielder Kante admits his team can't afford to continue that alarming trend if they are to qualify for next season's Champions League via a top four finish. Fifth-placed Chelsea are behind fourth placed Arsenal on goal difference, leaving the west Londoners with

Why should I? I have enough pairs of jeans to last me for the next 20 years, so I'm alright. I don't go to the shops. I don't do any of that. I can imagine the mood in the city is pretty good but I don't need to hear it, I don't need to see it," goal.com quoted Klopp as saying."But it's football, and for most of my life I have been a pure football supporter, so if my team was doing this I know what I would have been like. My favourite thing would have been a situation like we have now, where it is buzzing. I can imagine people want to go out and celebrate, talk about it, but we are not part of that. We have to make sure it stays like this - and that's .

I won it as a player in 1983 while M S Dhoni did it as the captain in 2011," said Azad who joined the Congress on February 18. He was elected to the Lok Sabha on BJP ticket in 1999, 2009 and 2014.
