As part of their preparations for the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers, Hockey India has invited former Australian striker Kieran Govers to work with the men's team during the on-going national camp here at the Sports Authority of India."I have been following the Indian team's progress very closely and I believe they have great potential. In the next few days, I will be working with the forwards to see how we can improve their efficiency inside the circle and when the opponents' marking is tight how can we convert," said Govers, who was part of the World Cup winning Australian squad in 2010 and 2014."We will also be doing some video analysis from the recent Sultan Azlan Shah Cup to dissect where the strikers could have done better. Shot putter Manpreet Kaur banned for 4 years for dope flunk
Asian champion shot putter Manpreet Kaur has been banned for four years by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for flunking four dope tests in 2017. The period of suspension would begin from July 20, 2017, the date of her provisional suspension, according to an order of the anti-doping disciplinary panel (ADDP) of the NADA dated March 29. "Yes, Manpreet Kaur has been suspended for four years," NADA Director General Navin Agarwal told PTI. She has the option of filing an appeal before the Anti-Doping Appeal Panel. Manpreet is set to lose the gold she won in the 2017 Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar as well as her national record as the panel ruled that all her competitive results from the date of sample collection would be disqualified. Manpreet tested positive four times in 2017. Tickets for the warm-up fixtures, scheduled to be played May 24-28, ahead of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, will go on sale on April 10.The ten competing teams will play two matches each across four official host venues in England - Bristol County Ground, Cardiff Wales Stadium, Hampshire Bowl and The Oval, but will not carry official ODI status.The prices for the matches start from as low as PS15 for adults and PS1 for under 16s.
