Tata Consumer Products Ltd on Monday said it has closed its rights issue of Rs 3,000 crore. The company had opened the issue on August 5, Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) said in a regulatory filing. The meeting of the capital raising committee of the board of the company held on July 23, 2024, approved the terms of the issuance of equity shares face value of Re 1 each by way of rights issue for an amount aggregating up to Rs 2,997.77 crore, it added. "The issue opened on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 9 am and closed today (Monday), August 19, 2024 at 5 pm," the filing said. In January this year, the company's board had approved a fundraising proposal of Rs 3,500 crore, which was meant to be utilised for the acquisitions of stakes in Capital Foods Pvt Ltd and Organic India Pvt Ltd. The company had stated that raising of funds by way of issue of equity shares of face value Re 1 each would not exceed Rs 3,000 crore.

Aviation regulator DGCA has approved integrating the aircraft line maintenance operations of Air India and Vistara as the two airlines move close to their merger. In a release on Friday, Air India said the integration will help in optimising resources to enhance operational performance and reduce aircraft turnaround times to bolster on-time performance. "With a unified maintenance team and resources, Air India will be better positioned to service a mixed fleet of wide body and narrow body aircraft, enhancing schedule integrity and reliability of operations," it added. The two airlines, part of the Tata Group, have secured the CAR (Civil Aviation Requirement) 145 approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to integrate their aircraft line maintenance operations. Tata Chemicals on Monday reported a 72 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 150 crore for the first quarter of this fiscal year. Its net profit stood at Rs 532 crore in the year-ago period. Total income also declined to Rs 3,836 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 from Rs 4,267 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. "The construction of the plant has started in short span of five months after the project was approved. It will manufacture about 4.83 crore chips per day. Tata Electronics' Rs 27,000-crore chip assembly plant in Assam will create 27,000 jobs and is expected to become operational in 2025, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion of chip plant's Bhumi Pujan ceremony, Chandrasekaran said that the company has already employed 1,000 people from Assam and as the facility expands it will bring entire semiconductor ecosystem companies. "At its capacity it will employ 27,000 people, 15,000 direct jobs and additional 12,000 indirect jobs. We want to move fast. We are trying to accelerate the building of this factory. We hope sometime in 2025 we will be able to complete this facility and quickly start operations," Chandrasekaran said. Already we have 1,000 people who have been employed from Assam. Tata Steel on Monday said it has acquired over 557 crore equity shares in its Singapore-based arm for USD 875 million. In May, Tata Steel's board had approved infusion of funds into T Steel Holdings Pte Ltd (TSHP), by way of subscription to equity shares in one or more tranches, the company said in an exchange filing. "Further to our disclosure dated May 29, 2024... we wish to inform you that, the company has today acquired 557,32,48,408 equity shares of face value USD 0.157 each aggregating to USD 875 million (Rs 7,324.41 crore) in TSHP," Tata Steel said. Post this acquisition, TSHP will continue to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, it said.
