"In 2017, about 4 per cent of India's GDP was derived from digital products and services created directly through the use of digital technologies like mobility, cloud, internet of things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI)," Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari told reporters here. Volvo, Alibaba develop AI car audio system
An artificial intelligence audio system has been jointly developed by Swedish luxury car maker Volvo and AI lab of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba group to be used in cars. The system, called "Tmall Gene" offers voice enquiries like car window and door status, and remaining fuel amount, and can also unlock doors and turn on air conditioning before the driver approaches the car, Volvo China said in a statement. The audio system will be soon applied to Volvo car models, it added. The two companies are also cooperating on online services like navigation, weather and air quality as well as parking, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
