As Libya's capital Tripoli continues to be hit by violence, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that over 500 Indians are stuck there and suggested that they leave the city immediately. The minister said that if the Indians stranded in the Libyan capital do not leave immediately, then it may not be possible to evacuate them later. Over 200 people were killed in Tripoli in the last two weeks since renegade Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar's troops launched a strike to oust UN-backed Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj from power. Swaraj tweeted, "Even after massive evacuation from Libya and the travel ban, there are over 500 Indian nationals in Tripoli. The situation in Tripoli is deteriorating fast. Presently, flights are operational. "Pls ask your relatives and friends to leave Tripoli immediately. We will not be able to evacuate them later," she said on her Twitter handle.

The accused duo, identified as Shaktivel (42) and Annadarai (45), both residents of Madrasi Camp, were arrested from Lajpat Nagar following a raid, police said. Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Devraj Anbu visited Trishakti Corps and forward areas of Sikkim bordering China during a two-day visit that ended Thursday, a Defence official said. At least 14 passengers including 11 security personnel were forcibly offloaded from a bus on a highway in Pakistan's Balochistan province and then shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Thursday, officials said.
Three senior citizens collapsed and died after exercising their franchise for the Lok Sabha polls in three districts of Tamil Nadu Thursday, police said. Balakrishnan of Coimbatore fainted and fell after coming out of the booth. He was being taken to a hospital when he died, the police said. Similarly, Murugesan collapsed and breathed his last at a booth in Erode, they said. Likewise, Krishnan died after casting his vote in Salem, the police said. All the three were in their mid-60s, they added.
