Govt extends animal husbandry infra fund worth Rs 29,610 cr till 2025-26

The Union Cabinet on Thursday extended the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) till 2025-26. In June 2020, the government had approved setting up of AHIDF worth Rs 15,000 crore. According to an official statement on Thursday, the Cabinet approved the "continuation of Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) to be implemented under Infrastructure Development Fund (IDF) with an outlay of Rs 29,610.25 crore for another three years up to 2025-26." The scheme will incentivize investments for dairy processing and product diversification, meat processing and product diversification, animal feed plant, breed multiplication farm, animal waste to wealth management (Agri-waste management) and veterinary vaccine and drug production facilities. "Government of India will provide 3 per cent interest subvention for 8 years including two years of moratorium for loan up to 90 per cent from the scheduled bank and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)

Chhattisgarh CM writes to PM, says tribal groups given benefits of schemes

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convey that there is joy in Lord Ram's maternal home Chhattisgarh over the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, and said his government will ensure prompt implementation of central schemes meant for tribals to fulfil the ideal of 'Ram Rajya'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the country can develop only if various welfare schemes reach all, asserting that it is his guarantee that everyone - even those in the remotest of areas - will benefit from them. PM Modi releases first instalment to 100K people under PM-JANMAN scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday released the first instalment of Rs 540 crore to one lakh beneficiaries of a rural housing scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) via video conferencing. During the event, Modi interacted with some beneficiaries of PM-JANMAN as they highlighted the positive changes in their lives after they availed of government schemes to get access to cooking gas connection, electricity, piped water and housing. 49% students in MCD schools didn't get financial aid under welfare schemes

As many as 48.74 per cent of students in MCD schools were deprived of financial benefits under various schemes from 2016-17 to 2022-2023 session, an audit report of the municipal body's Department of Education, shows. According to the audit report dated November 11, 2023, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's Education Department failed to provide the financial benefits under different schemes of the government of NCT Delhi to nearly 3,83,203 students due to non-opening of bank accounts required for the disbursement of funds. The audit was done by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's Office of Chief Auditor - a statutory body that is responsible for conducting monthly examinations and audits of municipal accounts and reports to the Standing Committee. An official of the Auditor's office, on condition of anonymity, confirmed the findings of the audit report. Calls and texts to MCD Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti and Mayor Shelly Oberoi for a response on the audit report went unanswered.

Assam CM unveils scheme to assist 4 mn women to become micro-entrepreneurs

Asserting that all welfare programmes of Assam will be linked to population control measures, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced a scheme to develop 40 lakh self-help-group (SHG) members as rural micro-entrepreneurs and help them become 'lakhpati baidos (elder sister)'. The scheme, 'Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan', will be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 4,000 crore and offered to those SHG members who are willing to undertake a personal business plan along with their group activity, the chief minister said at a press conference here. Sarma also said Assam is following a policy to control the state's population growth. "All our welfare schemes will be linked to population control measures for the benefit of our mothers and sisters", he said. Andhra CM Reddy disburses Rs 431 crore under Jagananna Thodu scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday disbursed Rs 431 crore under the Jagananna Thodu scheme, which provides nearly four lakh small and marginal street vendors and artisans with interest-free bank loans of up to Rs 10,000. Thursday's transfer of funds was the eighth such disbursal, and also includes interest subvention of Rs 14 crore, which benefited up to six lakh beneficiaries who availed loans and repaid them on time. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said services of more than 18,000 anganwadi workers, terminated on account of their taking part in a state-wide strike, will be restored. Kumar gave the assurance to a delegation of anganwadi workers, which called on him at his official residence, requesting that the government consider raising the stipend paid to Sevikas' and Sahaayikas'. The CM told them that his government has been raising stipends of angangwadi workers from time to time, and in view of your request a respectable hike will be made soon.
