Patna (Bihar), Apr 27 (ANI): Country is facing oxygen shortage amid the devastating second wave of COVID-19. Oxygen plants are working in their full capacity but are failing to meet the rising demand. An Oxygen plant in Patna produces 600 cylinders daily but it is not enough for the city. One of the employees at the plant said, "There is a huge demand for oxygen. We are unable to fulfil the demand and are forced to turn away people."
Sirsa (Haryana), Apr 27 (ANI): Haryana's grocery store located in Sirsa came up with a unique initiative to encourage people to get vaccinated for COVID-19. The lucrative offer includes 1kg potato, 1 kg tomato and 1 kg onion at the cost of Rs 5. People who have their vaccination certificate can take benefit of this offer.
Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 27 (ANI): A father from Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh has donated Rs two lakh, which he saved for his daughters' weddings, to local administration to meet the rising demand of oxygen for COVID-19 patients. Champa Lal Gurjar had decided to conduct lavish marriage ceremonies of his two daughters scheduled for April 30. But with fresh restrictions imposed in the state in view of the 2nd wave of COVID-19, he was forced to the keep the celebrations limited. However, after consulting with his 'Gurudev' and seeing the severe shortage of oxygen for COVID-19 patients, he donated Rs 1 lakh each to two hospitals in Neemuch.

Out of the five arrested on Saturday, three were arrested for black marketing of Remdesivir injection while the other two were arrested for involvement in selling fake injection as the anti-viral drug used in curing COVID-19 infected patients. The demand for Remdesivir injections has been rising amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.

He also urged people, who test positive, to get in touch with local doctors as all doctors know COVID protocol. "As soon as your RT-PCR report comes positive, my advice would be to consult your local doctor with whom you're in touch. All doctors know protocol and will begin your treatment accordingly," said Dr. Naresh Tehran.
New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Amid the shortage of anti-viral drug Remdesivir in the country in wake of devastating COVID-19 situation, AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Director Randeep Guleria said Remdesivir is not a "magic bullet", and the anti-viral drug is given to only those patients who are hospitalised. "Remdesivir not a magic bullet, it's given to only patients who are hospitalised, have moderate to severe disease and whose oxygen saturation is below 93...Don't misuse Oxygen and Remdesivir. Most patients can recover by isolating at home," Guleria said during conference with three other India's top doctors who addressed issues related to COVID-19 situation.
