Centre approves inclusion of 12,500 health centres in National AYUSH Mission

New Delhi, Mar 21 (ANI): Union Cabinet approved inclusion of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres component of Ayushman Bharat in National AYUSH Mission. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "The health centre will give training for Yoga and other healthy practices. The centre will also have variety of medical equipments. The project costing 3,400 crore will provide 12,500 health centres in coming years." The move will reduce burden on secondary and tertiary health care facilities.

'Janta curfew': Metro, bus services in UP to remain closed on Mar 22

He said, "We all must adhere to 'Janta curfew' called by the Prime Minister. All metro rail, state and city bus services in the state to remain closed tomorrow." In his address to the nation on March 19, PM Modi had appealed to citizens to follow 'Janta curfew' on March 22 in a move to combat Novel Coronavirus pandemic.

COVID-19: CM Yogi announces compensation for daily wage, construction workers

Lucknow (UP), Mar 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath briefed on COVID-19 outbreak informing that 23 people were found to be infected and nine people have been recovered. "A total of 23 people have been found to be infected with coronavirus in the state. Out of the total cases, nine people have recovered. We have sufficient number of isolation wards in the state. Rs 1000 each will be given 15 lakh daily wage labourers and 20.37 lakh construction workers to help them meet their daily needs," said CM Adityanath.

Panaji (Goa), Mar 21 (ANI): Health Minister of Goa, Vishwajit Rane on the outbreak of COVID-19 on Saturday stated that the state government launched a 'self-assessment interactive app' for coronavirus. He said, "We have launched a self-assessment interactive app on coronavirus. This is the first in the country. We're taking all precautions and discouraging gathering of even 5 people. We don't want tourists coming to Goa till the situation settles." No cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Goa till now. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in the nation climbed to 285.

Coronavirus scare: Massive rush at Lokmanya Railway Station as people board trains for their hometowns

Mumbai, Mar 21 (ANI): In the wake of COVID-19 alert, a huge crowd of passengers gathered at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Railway Station in Mumbai on March 21. Passengers are waiting at the railway station to board their respective trains. Speaking to ANI, one of the passengers said that there were so many people on trains that he didn't get a seat despite having a confirmed ticket. His parents have asked him to return because of coronavirus. Section 144 has been imposed in parts of Maharashtra. The total tally of confirmed cases in Maharashtra jumped to 53.

COVID-19 outbreak: West Bengal PSC postponed all written exams from Mar 21 to Apr 5

New Delhi, Mar 21 (ANI): In view of novel coronavirus, West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has postponed all its written exams scheduled from March 21 to April 05.The ongoing physical endurance test for recruitment to post of fire operator under Department of Fire and Emergency services is also postponed to March 23 onwards. A total of 236 positive coronavirus cases have been reported so far in India. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.

COVID-19 outbreak: Fine of Rs 1,000 to be imposed for spitting at public places, says Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Mar 21 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on March 20, the Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad, Vijay Nehra spoke on coronavirus. He said, "A mission has been started by Amdavad Municipal Corporation against the people spitting in open areas. We have fined all those individuals who were found spitting in public places." "From Monday (March 23) onwards we will increase the amount of fine from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 and those who will not pay fine we will register FIR against them," Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner added.
