Chennai, Jan 22 (ANI): The endangered wild species were seized by Customs officials at Chennai International Airport. They seized Marmosets, Red-handed Tamarin, Tricolor Squirrels and Iguanas. Three persons are detained in this matter. These animals were smuggled from Bangkok. The seized primates, rodents and reptiles will be deported to Bangkok. Further investigation is underway

New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): A recent research has found that medical cannabis may not be able to help treat sleeping problems of people who have chronic pain over the long term. The study which was published in the journal BMJ Supportive and Palliative Care further suggested that this happens because frequent users might build up tolerance towards the sleep-inducing effects of cannabis and thus, it might become ineffective. Another study based on current evidence suggested that cannabinoids -the active chemicals in medicinal cannabis- do not have a role in cancer-related pain. Chronic pain is thought to affect between 19 percent and 37 percent of adults in the developed world and is often accompanied by sleep problems, including difficulty getting to (latency) and staying asleep, and waking up early. Bengaluru, Jan 21 (ANI): Scores of slum dwellers were left homeless after their huts were razed in Bengaluru's Kariyammana Agrahara area, after it was claimed that the settlement belonged to illegal Bangaldeshi immigrants. The electricity and water supply have also been cut off. Locality mostly comprises of migrants from Assam, Tripura, and from North Karnataka. They were allegedly asked to vacate the land. According to the BBMP Mayor M Goutham Kumar, BBMP officials not demolished the huts. An assistant executive engineer gave the orders but he is unaware about who undertook the task. Chandigarh, Jan 21 (ANI): Brig (Retd) Kuldeep Singh Kehlon on January 21 shared his views on detention camps being spotted in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area. He said that Pakistan is working with China and detention camps are happening in Balochistan because of the One Belt One Road (OBOR). "Pakistan is working with China and it is happening in Balochistan because of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) which passes through balochistan. Balochistan Liberation Army has been apposing because there are natural resources and they know that the army will destroy the freedom, struggle, so now they have adopted these detention camps similar on the lines of the Beijing," said defence expert retired brigadier Kuldeep Singh Kehlon. Makwanpur (Nepal), Jan 21 (ANI): Eight tourists from Kerala were found dead in a resort room in Nepal's Makwanpur district. Bodies were taken to hospital for post-mortem. Cause of the deaths is said to be suffocation due to gas heater. Deceased include four adults and four children.
