Uttarakhand govt showers petals on 'Kanwariyas' from helicopter in Haridwar

Haridwar (Uttarakhand), July 28 (ANI): The government of Uttarakhand showered petals on 'Kanwariyas' from helicopter in Haridwar today. The petals were showered in Har Ki Pauri, which is a famous ghat on the banks of Ganges in Haridwar. Till now, around 3 crore Kanwariyas have reached Haridwar. Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj gave instructions to shower petals on kanwar yatris. While speaking to media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Haridwar Janmejay Khanduri said, "State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj had directed us to shower flower petals on 'Kanwariyas', it was done by the government."

Forest officials rescue crocodile in MP's Damoh

Damoh (Madhya Pradesh), July 28 (ANI): Crocodiles were seen in the residential areas of Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district. A team of forest officials caught a crocodile in Ghat Pipariya village of Damoh district today. The crocodile is now being released in Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctuary. Several rivers and lakes in MP are flooded with rain water so in result, crocodiles are entering in the residential areas to safeguard their life.

Body of BJP worker Kashinath Ghosh recovered from canal in WB's Hooghly

Hooghly (West Bengal), July 28 (ANI): Body of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Kashinath Ghosh was recovered from a canal in West Bengal's Hooghly district. The incident took place in Goghat village of Hooghly. Kashinath Ghosh was accused of being involved in the murder of Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker Lalchand Bagh. BJP has alleged that TMC is behind the murder of Ghosh.

Teen gang-raped in Rajasthan's Alwar

Alwar (Rajasthan), July 28 (ANI): A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men in Rajasthan's Alwar. Her nude photographs were also circulated online. Station House Officer from Alwar's Barodameo, Dinesh Meena told ANI, "An FIR was lodged by the girl's family against four people on Saturday under relevant sections. A medical examination of the girl has been conducted on Saturday and an investigation is on, accused will be caught soon."

VP Naidu pays last respect to senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy in Hyderabad

Hyderabad (Telangana), July 28 (ANI): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu paid his last respect to senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad today. Jaipal Reddy passed away at the age of 77 today. Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) former MP and leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha also paid her last respect to Jaipal Reddy. He had been unwell for the last few days and had been undergoing medical treatment at a hospital. On Saturday night he fell ill again and was shifted to AIG hospital where he was declared dead.

BSF organises 'Run for Martyrs' in Tripura's Agartala
