Palampur (HP), July 26 (ANI): GL Batra, father of martyr Captain Vikram Batra, who lost his life in Kargil War, said, "Government is taking strong actions against Pakistan as it continues to support infiltration and terrorism. I'd requested the government in Delhi to rename roads in Delhi after Param Vir Chakra awardees, yet to receive a response on it." Country is celebrating 20 years of Kargil War today to rekindle the proud and valour of Kargil soldiers. Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan which took place in 1999.

Kargil Vijay Diwas: BSF personnel pay tribute to Kargil heroes at War Memorial

Drass (JandK), July 26 (ANI): BSF personnel paid tribute to Kargil heroes at War Memorial in JandK's Drass. Families of war heroes were also present at the memorial. They also paid tribute to the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay. Country is celebrating 20 years of Kargil War to rekindle the proud and valour of the Kargil soldiers. Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan which took place in 1999. The war memorial has around 500 tombstones with the names of the soldiers inscribed in them.

BJP leader calls for chopping off Azam Khan's head for his comments on Rama Devi

Amroha (UP), Jul 26 (ANI): In a controversial statement, BJP leader Aftab Advani on Thursday called for chopping off Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan's head for his comment over MP Rama Devi. "Azam Khan's comment on woman MP Rama Devi is condemnable. We strongly condemn it and want to request the government of India that his head should be chopped off and left hanging from the door of Parliament..so that people like Azam Khan such as Asaduddin Owaisi who are there should know that what happens to those who insult women," he said in the video. Lenovo launches Tab V7 at Rs 12,990

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Lenovo has added a new tablet to its portfolio today. The Lenovo Tab V7 Android tablet is designed for entertainment on-the-go. The tablet features a 6.9-inch full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC, Dolby audio speakers, 4G VoLTE support, 5180mAh battery, fingerprint and facial recognition. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Lenovo Tab V7 is available in two configurations. The 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage model is priced at Rs 12,990, while the 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage model costs Rs 14,990. It will be available on Flipkart starting 1st August 2019.

Rajnath Singh launches Department of Defence Production Dashboard

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched Department of Defence Production Dashboard on Thursday. The dashboard is launched for effective monitoring of various initiatives and schemes taken up by his Ministry. The dynamic online dashboard shows all key data of the nation's defence manufacturing sector," the tweet further read. The dashboard has various categories, including export, production, Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti, Make 2 projects, startups and artificial intelligence. According to the newly created dashboard, India has exported its defence offset of 1,570 million dollars while exports worth Rs 3,323 crore. Defence production has set a target of Rs 90,000 crore for 2019-20. However, it met a target of Rs 80,502 crore in 2018-19.

India deports 30 Bangladeshis from Assam

Silchar (Assam), July 26 (ANI): India has deported 30 Bangladeshis, who had illegally entered the Indian territory on Thursday. All deported Bangladeshis were lodged in detention camps in Assam after being arrested entering India without valid travel documents. They were deported to their country through Karimganj border.

Many young drinkers are unaware of health messages on alcohol packaging: Study

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): About 50 per cent of young drinkers are unaware of health messages on alcohol packaging, recent findings suggest. According to the latest study, just half of 11 to 19-year-old drinkers recall seeing health messages or warnings on alcohol packaging -- despite being an important target market for this information. Published in the Journal of Public Health, the research, the study investigated to what extent 11-19 year olds in the UK were aware of product information, health messaging or warnings on alcohol packaging during the previous month. The research team found that of those who identified themselves as 'current drinkers', just half had recalled seeing such information, and that fell to just one-third of the entire age group, regardless of their current drinking status. Fake Loan Company busted, 33 nabbed

TT Championship organised in Srinagar to hunt talent in Valley

Srinagar (JandK), July 25 (ANI): Kashmir Table Tennis Association in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council organized 'District Srinagar Table Tennis Championship' at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sport Complex in Srinagar. India in touch with Pak seeking consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav: MEA

New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): India is in touch with Pakistan through diplomatic channels to demand consular access to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, facing death row there, with full compliance and conformity with ICJ judgment under the Vienna Convention, informed Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar. "We expect that full consular access should be granted to Kulbhushan Jadhav at the earliest in full compliance with the ICJ's judgment. We are in touch with Pakistani authorities in this regard and as and when there is an update we will let you know," he added.

AAI signs MoU with Aireon for aircraft surveillance over Indian Ocean

New Delhi (ANI) July 25, 2019: The Airports Authority of India signed MoU with Aireon, USA for implementation of Space Based Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast data (ADS-B) services for the oceanic regions of the Indian flight information regions (FIRs). The agreement was signed by Mansoor Ahmed of Airports Authority of India and Don Thoma, President and CEO, Aireon in the presence of Chairman of Airports Authority of India, Guruprasad Mohapatra in New Delhi. The ADS-B data services will provide the real time surveillance of airplanes over oceans falling in Indian Airspace. The Airports Authority of India is planning to commence trial operations of these services from January 2020 onwards. The estimated cost towards provisioning of these services is Rs.114 crores per year. With the ability to display an accurate and real-time picture of an aircraft, this technology will facilitate more efficient planning and offer a wider array of traffic control and management tools.
