Attari-Wagah Border, July 14 (ANI): Officials from India and Pakistan are slated to meet today to finalise the modalities of the Kartarpur corridor and related technical issues. Government sources said the meeting is scheduled to take place at 9:30 am at Wagah. Previously, the two countries were slated to meet on April 2 in Pakistan for second round of talks, which was postponed after reports surfaced about the appointment of "controversial elements" by Pakistan in a committee associated with the corridor. A delegation of 20 Pakistani official headed by Dr Mohammad Faisal, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan will take part in the meeting.
Deoria (UP), July 14 (ANI): Police personnel are facing difficulties due to water-logging at their residential quarters in Deoria's Gauri Bazar. The offices of District Magistrate and District Excise officer were waterlogged on Saturday due to intermittent rains in the area. Locals are also facing trouble to commute to their respective workplaces after the widespread rainfall, throwing normal life out of gear. Several parts of Uttar Pradesh were deluged in water, making it more difficult for the school students and the general public to move out of their house.
Kathmandu (Nepal), July 14 (ANI): At least 43 people have been dead and 24 others are missing due to landslides and floods triggered by incessant rainfall in Nepal, according to the Nepal Police. 20 others have been injured in the incident. The casualties were reported from different places in Nepal, including capital Kathmandu. At least 1104 people have been rescued from various places across the country so far. In its special bulletin, the Meteorological Forecasting Division on Saturday has warned of widespread rain from moderate to heavy scale. Heavy rains since July 11 have hit 20 of Nepal's 77 districts, in the hills as well as in southern plains.

New research showed that being able to see green spaces from your home is associated with reduced cravings for alcohol, cigarettes, and harmful foods. The study published in the Journal of Health and Place is the first to demonstrate that passive exposure to nearby green space is linked to both lower frequencies and strengths of craving. It builds on previous research suggesting exercising in nature can reduce cravings, by demonstrating the same may be true irrespective of physical activity. Researchers say the findings add to evidence that point to the need to protect and invest in green spaces within towns and cities, in order to maximise the public health benefits they may afford. Dibrugarh (Assam), July 14 (ANI): The villagers in Assam are forced to resort themselves to a safe place as the situation in the state worsened on Saturday due to the flood caused by heavy fall in the region. Meanwhile, troops of Indian Army along with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Administration on Saturday conducted rescue operations and evacuated around 150 villagers who were stranded in Balipur Char of Baksa District in the state. According to the officials, the villagers were shifted to flood relief shelters in Odalguri village. The parts of the Brahmaputra River are flowing above the danger mark due to heavy rainfall in the state. Subsequently, water has reached near the feet of the statue of Lord Vishnu on the vertical pillar in the river near Chakreshwar Temple in Kalipur here on Saturday. Gaya (Bihar), July 14 (ANI): The Excise Department arrested five persons in possession of illicit liquor in separate cases on Saturday. The arrests come as a part of a special drive conducted to curb the sale of illicit liquor the region, in accordance with directions issued by the District Magistrate. New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): After introducing the foldable smartphone, Samsung is reportedly testing the waters for foldable AR glasses, according to a patent filed by the company. The patent filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office describes Samsung's purported smart glasses to be powered by an ARM processor. The temple portion of the wearable device is likely to include a projector and a prism, PatentlyApple reports. The foldable design will allow for easy storage as well as help reduce power consumption. When in the unfolded position, the projector will display images for the wearer to see. Lucknow (UP), July 14 (ANI): Railway engineers have made a scale -down model of a Rafale fighter jet from scrap material in the workshop. The model not only resembles the actual jet but also emits sound somewhat similar to it. Railway officials told ANI that it took about one and half month for a team of 8 people to make it. However, the model is the centre of attraction for commoners who are thronging to see it. "It is mostly made out of the scrap material in the workshop. Generally, the sheet metal scrap is used and ankles are also used. At last, the surface is frozen and paint is put," said an official. Officials informed that for making the model, photographs of Rafale available on the Internet were used. "We studied the photographs and tried to match the dimensions. The voice of the fighter plane is recorded from the Internet and is being played to give an impression as if the engine is making sound," said official. Majuli (Assam), Jul 13 (ANI): Rainwater entered into Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camps in Assam's Majuli post incessant rain in Assam. CRPF jawans were forced to wade through ankle-deep water inside the camp. They also had to move furniture and other belongings to save it from soaking in rain.
